 CIMB Group has topped Bloomberg’s Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) as well as
Dealogic’s Equity Capital Market (ECM) league tables for 2014.CIMB Group Acting Chief Executive, Tengku Datuk Zafrul
Tengku Abdul Aziz, said these league table positions represented the bank’s strengths and abilities, despite the weaker
capital market environment.
 The Employees Provident Fund Board (EPF) has disposed of 1.02 million shares in Eversendai Corp Bhd on Jan 2.In a
filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Eversendai said as a result of the disposal, EPF has direct shareholding of 7.35 per cent
interest in the company, representing 56,854,100 shares as of Jan 5.
 Mah Sing Group Bhd shareholders have approved the renounceable rights issue with free warrants and 1-for-4 bonus
issue at the company’s extraordinary general meeting today.In a statement, Mah Sing said the issuance, which was
expected to raise up to RM630 million for future expansion of the company, was to reward long-term
shareholders.Group managing director/group chief executive, Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum, said the exercise was part of the
group’s prudent management of capital structure to maintain a healthy and optimum capital base.
 The surge in development expenditure and rollout of new mega projects, alongside the unveiling of the 11th Malaysia
Plan in May, are expected to boost the construction sector in 2015.HongLeong Investment Bank in a research note
today has retained its “overweight” rating on the construction sector as it expects job flows to it to remain robust.
 Boeing Commercial Airplanes set a record for the most commercial airplanes delivered in a single year at 723 units in
2014.It broke the company’s record for a second consecutive year.In a statement, Boeing said it booked 1,432 net
orders with a value of US$232.7 billion at list prices, while breaking the previous all-time high set in 2007, with unfilled
commercial orders standing at 5,789 at the end of the year.
 AirlineRatings.com the world’s only safety and product rating website has announced its top ten safest
airlines and top ten safest low cost airlines for 2015 from the 449 it monitors.Top of the list again is Qantas
which has a fatality free record in the jet era. Making up the remainder of the top ten in alphabetical order
are: Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair,
Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines.
