 Late buying in selected heavyweight counters pushed Bursa Malaysia to end trading higher today,
extending last week’s gains, dealers said. At 5 pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI)
ended at an intra-day high of 1,735.08, up 2.64 points, after going as low as 1,718.76 throughout the
trading day. Regionally, Asian stock markets were mixed, as investors remained cautious over the US
non-farm payrolls report released last week, coupled with uncertainty in global oil prices due to
weakening demand in Europe and Asia.
 The ringgit ended lower against the US dollar today despite stronger regional currencies, a dealer said. As
at 5 pm, the local note was quoted at 3.5660/5680 against the greenback compared with 3.5610/5640 on
Friday. The dealer said Asian currencies rose following mixed US jobs data, which showed a drop in
wages, and spurred investors to pare their bullish bets on the US dollar. The ringgit was traded lower
against other major currencies. It eased against the euro at 4.2132/2167 from 4.2038/2084 on Friday but
fell against the yen to 3.0024/9054 from 2.9819/9857 previously.
 Standard Chartered Bank expects Malaysia to record a solid growth of 5.9 per cent for 2014.It would be
the highest growth performance for the country since the global economic crisis. It has projected the last
quarter to chalk a 5.2-5.3 per cent year-on-year growth.2015 will be a slower year in terms of growth to
record a 5.5 per cent partly due to the high base effects. Economist Edward Lee said Malaysia should
benefit from a pick-up in global demand in the second half of the year.
 Tan Sri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob has been appointed as the new chairman of Telekom Malaysia Berhad
(TM), replacing Datuk Seri Dr. Halim Shafie effective 12 January 2015. “We are happy to welcome Tan Sri
Datuk Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob as the new chairman of TM Board. With his vast experience and knowledge,
we look forward to Tan Sri’s guidance and leadership as the company continues on its transformation
journey and next phase of growth," said TM group chief executive officer, Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd.

 IHH Healthcare Bhd has set the price for Gleneagles CRC Pte Ltd’s (GCRC) disposal at S$5.268 million
(RM14.013 million).IHH Healthcare in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today said the price was based on the
adjusted consideration mutually agreed upon among its wholly-owned unit Parkway Holdings Ltd
together with Mitsui & Co Ltd and EPS Holdings Inc (formerly known as EPS Corporation).
 Axiata Group Bhd’s shares on the Bursa Malaysia rose, in early trading this morning, riding high on the
positive outlook for its 92 per cent Bangladesh subsidiary, Robi.As at 10.02 am, the counter added four
sen to RM6.99 with 230,400 shares changing hands, after opening one sen higher at RM6.96.In a
research note today, Maybank Investment Bank (MaybankIB) said Robi’s contribution to Axiata has been
growing.
