MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION
Shares on Bursa Malaysia closed mixed today, bolstered by finance-linked counters with Hong Leong Financial
gaining 38 sen to RM17.76, dealers said They said bargain hunting lifted the market, which has been on five straight
weeks of correction, but further gains were capped by mild selling .At 5pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia
KLCI (FBM KLCI) finished 5.84 points higher at 1,846.34, after opening better at 1,841.05.The FBM KLCI hovered
between 1,839.2 and 1,846.75.
United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) through its subsidiary Tentu Teguh Sdn Bhd (TTSB) has embarked on a new
140.43 ha. modern integrated township in Cahaya Baru, Jalan Kong Kong in Masai near here .The fourth township
developed by UMLand in Malaysia and its third in Johor, Taman Seri Albion comprises small industrial, commercial,
retail and residential units.
AirAsia today announced the recommencement of its international route from Kuala Lumpur to Hyderabad, India
beginning December 8.The route will be serviced with daily flights, marking another enhancement to the airline's
extensive route network and further bridging the gap between Malaysia and the rest of the region."We are very
pleased to recommence the Kuala Lumpur-Hyderabad route.
The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar today in tandem with other emerging Asian currencies as the
greenback strenghtened and registered a fresh four-year high against major currencies .At 5pm, the ringgit was
quoted at 3.2790/2810 against the greenback from 3.2580/2610 on Friday.A dealer said Asian currencies fell
broadly after the US Commerce Department on Friday revised upwards the country's economic growth for the
second quarter, indicating the strength of the US economic recovery.
Shares on Bursa Malaysia were mixed at mid-afternoon today amid lacklustre trading, dealers said .They said some
heavyweights and blue-chips, however, continued to gain.At 3pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM
KLCI) stood at 1,842.58, up 2.08 points, after opening better at 1,841.05.
Forty-two Malaysian construction companies generated total sales of RM102.96 million from 97 pre-arranged
meetings at the recent Incoming Buying Mission on September 17, 2014.The mission was co-organised by the
Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade) and Construction Industry Development Board in
conjunction with the International Construction Week 2014.
Shares in rare earths miner Lynas Corporation Ltd hit a five-year low as the company seeks to raise A$83 million
from investors to shore up its finances, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reports .The company's annual loss
has also tripled to A$365.8 million. Lynas mines rare earths, which are used in a range of high-tech products, in
Western Australia, and operates a refinery near Kuantan in Malaysia.
