Learning Objectives
   In the era of increasing globalization, students
   need to be prepared with a range of skills which
   will enable them to analyse the global economic
   environment in which firms operate. There is also
   the need to understand the rationale for a range
   of business and marketing strategies that are
   implemented by global organisations.
    To enable students to analyze the global
     economic environment in which firms operate
    To foster the development of appropriate
     business and marketing strategies for global
     organizations.
    To provide analytical skills regarding the
     operation and management of modern
Synopsis
 This course provides students with an
  understanding of the global economic environment
  and international business management issues.
 Students will learn management skills in the
  context of managing business risks in the global
  economics environment.
 A sound appreciation of regional cultural and
  political economies as well as global supply chain
  relationships and their influences on the
  organisation is necessary for evaluating
  international business management strategies.
 Evaluating real-world case studies will enable
  students to be more critical in their selection of
  strategic options in international business strategy,
  global marketing management and risk
  management.
Assessment

    Coursework (30%)              Examination (70%)
Individual           written
assignments
encompassing -
   5  case studies (10%)
    and          Presentation
    (individual assessment)      Closed book examination
 1 case study research           based on the learning
  paper (3,000 words)             outcomes.
  (20%) on the analysis
  of   the    international
  business issues and
  risks faced recently by
  a PLC in Asia.

Learning Objectives In the era of increasing globalization, students need to be prepared with a range of skills which will enable them to analyse the global economic environment in which firms operate. There is also the need to understand the rationale for a range of business and marketing strategies that are implemented by global organisations.  To enable students to analyze the global economic environment in which firms operate  To foster the development of appropriate business and marketing strategies for global organizations.  To provide analytical skills regarding the operation and management of modern

Synopsis  This course provides students with an understanding of the global economic environment and international business management issues.  Students will learn management skills in the context of managing business risks in the global economics environment.  A sound appreciation of regional cultural and political economies as well as global supply chain relationships and their influences on the organisation is necessary for evaluating international business management strategies.  Evaluating real-world case studies will enable students to be more critical in their selection of strategic options in international business strategy, global marketing management and risk management.

Assessment Coursework (30%) Examination (70%) Individual written assignments encompassing -  5 case studies (10%) and Presentation (individual assessment)  Closed book examination  1 case study research based on the learning paper (3,000 words) outcomes. (20%) on the analysis of the international business issues and risks faced recently by a PLC in Asia.
