Editor's Notes

  • #7 Here is the big picture of our enterprise planning solution, that connects financial planning and operational planning.Hyperion Planning is the core solution for budgeting and forecasting plus the specialized modules for workforce and capital assets planning.HSF adds value for longer term financial planning to better manage cash flows and capital investments. Which is top of mind for CFOs and CEOs.Enterprise Planning ensures that the financial plan is in line with operational plans. The benefit is that companies can better manage the impact of operational drivers like materials, labor and transportation costs on product margins. And because it’s a prepackaged solution customers can deploy it fast: it comes with predefined operational models for materials, capacity, labor and transportation, pre-built reports and dashboards in OBIEE and integration with Hyperion Planning to capture financial targets and assumptions. One of our key differentiators is that we provide predictive modeling capabilities to manage the risks in business plans. Especially in today’s uncertain times this is critical for managers to understand. This is based on the EPM integration with Crystal Ball.
  • #10 Walk your audience through this process. Explain that this is Oracle’s vision for an efficient and linear close process that can deliver a world class process.Begin with the sub-ledgers and explain each chevron and how they relate to each other. Note that in data assurance we bring together ALL financial data required to meet the reporting needs of every stakeholder in the organization. You may also note that traditionally 50+% of financial data does not exist in a General Ledger (i.e. Plan/Fcst, Headcount, Lease, etc.).Notice that there are not reporting silo’s. Management and External reporting are both included as part of the process. Thereby eliminating cumbersome reconciliations and unnecessary efforts.
  • #11 Here is the big picture of Oracle’s Financial Close solution. The solution encompasses all the areas impacted by the close, introduces automation, visibility and workflow managing the process from transactions through to reporting.Hyperion Financial Management is the core of the solution which manages the ‘financial consolidation’ and delivers automated reporting to all stakeholders. Financial Data Quality Management ensures that the data sets are complete, valid and timely.GRC ensures that the financial governance policies are enforced with required controls and testing.FCM will manage all tasks, assignments and due dates across all applications in the close from transaction systems like SAP and EBS through HFM and Disclosure ManagementDM will manage the creation of the key financial documents like 10Q/K, bank covenant documents, etc. The solution manages the assignment of all disclosures, due dates, workflow and versioning for these key documents that can not be wrong. Today these processes are mostly manual in organizations.Tax calculation and filings are managed with 3rd party solutions like Corptax and Tax Stream. However we have a pre-built tax adapter to make the integration easy.
