The document describes Loesche's Compact Cement Grinding (CCG) plant, a new small-scale cement production system. The CCG uses proven Loesche vertical roller mill technology in a compact modular form, allowing cement production in small and remote markets. Key advantages of the CCG include its flexibility to produce different cement types, ability to start production within a year, and potential to relocate the entire plant. Loesche offers full support services for the CCG from planning and installation to operation and maintenance.
Latest Technological Innovation in Grinding With the Vertical Roller MillLOESCHE
Without any doubt, today's grinding plants have to feature highly efficient mills with high efficiency classifiers showing low specific energy consumption and the highest possible mechanical durability.
Drive Selection for Large LOESCHE Vertical Roller MillsLOESCHE
Rising demand from the cement industry for ever greater mill capacities is having implications for the drive systems that have been used up to now. With conventional drive solutions reaching their limits, the world's leading gearbox manufacturers are developing new systems that can offer realistic alternatives for the higher-capacity mills that are now being ordered and delivered.

Loesche Technology - Always a Step Ahead: Loesche Mills for Cement Raw MaterialLOESCHE
Cement raw material has been almost exclusively ground in roller mills (vertical air-swept grinding mills) since the second half of the 20th Century. Loesche was and is the pioneer of this technology. Hundreds of Loesche mills have been used in the cement industry across the world to the present day. They operate with two, three, four and six rollers.

Presentation from the AFCM cement conference taking place from 21-24 April in Hanoi, Vietnam: Introduction to the FLSmidth Operation and Maintenance concept
The Indian cement industry today stands at
260 MTPA capacity, with greater growth prospects
and promising future ahead. Cement industry has
been an excellent example of a fast growing sector
showing consistent and steady reduction in its
energy consumption. This has largely been
possible by steady and continuous improvement
across all equipments in cement manufacturing
process.
The cement industry is worldwide one of the main contributors to man-made CO2 emissions, estimated at 7% of global emissions.
To keep pace with the demand and pressure to reduce CO2 emissions, a shift to sustainable building materials for housing and infrastructure must still be continued.
Cement manufacturers can make significant progress toward sustainability goals with alternative fuels and efficiency projects by reducing clinker content through cementitious additives (SCM).

Alternative Fuel Market After Covid-19 – Focus on Efficiency and QualityLOESCHE
Covid-19 has changed the way people interact with each other and the way business is done. Now is the time to change the paradigm regarding alternative fuel projects towards a more holistic approach in order to ensure investment efficiency. Simple and cheap (at first) shall give way to smart, flexible, and sustainable concepts. Suppliers shall give way to partners.

As ever-higher efficiencies are demanded of grinding equipment, cement plants require a new benchmark for grinding component performance. Addressing wear through regular maintenance and repair is one strategy with the sustainable supply of grinding parts and management of mill wear as key factors in keeping mills running.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. There are no construction projects without cement, and no cement
without Loesche vertical roller mills (VRM). Grinding of cement
clinker and granulated blast furnace slag in vertical roller mills
is a technology introduced by Loesche. Since the first Loesche
vertical roller mills came onto the market in 1928, countless num-
bers of them have been used in the cement industry across the
world. Nowadays more than 2,000 Loesche mills are in operation
worldwide.
The extensively proven Loesche VRM is also the core of the new
Compact Cement Grinding plant (CCG). Loesche’s CCG provides
its technological features in a most compact form thus making
them available in small but growing markets and remote areas
with a demand for locally produced cement.

CCG plant enhances your flexibility
during operation. You can process all
kinds of raw materials and change
output products easily and quickly
to meet changing market needs. All
kinds of additives can be used to
ensure that you can produce cement
at low cost and protect the environ-
