Introduction:
1. History taking in ENT speciality is no different then other speciality of
medicine except we emphasize more on local examination of ear, nose
throat larynx and neck rather then the systemic and general examination
but we go for these examination if needed, or patient is going for any
surgical intervention then systemic and general examination is done
2. History taking is the integerral part of job for the student and doctors to
reach the diagnosis.
3. For the management of patient there are four integral parts to reach the
diagnosis. a- history
b- Clinical Examination
c- Investigations
d- Treatment

Presenting complaint.
On chronological order
a. Ear discharge 5 year
b. Deafness 4 year
History of Presenting illness.
In history of presenting illness we discuss in detail individual symptoms of the
patients, regarding on set, duration, amount, consistency, frequency,
association, progression, deafness and so on, other symptoms also needed to
address and exclude and the treatment taken. and past, personal history drug
history family history any history of allergy and past medical illness in the
family of the patients should be discuss in detail.
