Performant applications are one of the key drivers of success in the mobile world. Users may abandon an app if it runs slowly. Learning how to build applications that balance speed and performance with functionality and UX can be a challenge; however, it's now more important than ever to get that balance right. This session will show you how to wring the most from any hardware your app is installed on, so you can increase your reach and engagement. An introduction to state–of-the-art Android techniques and the importance of performance in an Android application will be introduced, and later we will slowly walk through the Android SDK tools regularly used to debug and profile Android applications, learn about some advanced topics such as building layouts, multithreading, networking, security and battery life ( one of the biggest bottleneck in applications).

Traditional models of concurrent programming have been around for some time. They work well and have matured quite a bit over the last couple of years. However, every once in a while there low latency and high throughput requirements that cannot be met by traditional models of concurrency and application design. How about handling almost 1 billion operations/second per core of a system. When designing such systems one has to throw away the traditional models of application design and thing different. In this seminar we discuss some of the approaches that can make this possible. This approach is hardware friendly and a re-look at data from a hardware perspective. It requires logical understanding of how modern hardware works. It also requires the knowledge of tools that can help track down a particular stall and possibly the reason behind it. This may provide pointers for a redesign if required. In the balance then, this seminar is about an architecture which is Hardware friendly. It also about very specialized data structures that fully exploits the underlying architecture of the processor, cache and memory.

Faults inside system software were analyzed, with a focus on diagnosing faults in device drivers. Approaches to deal with faulty drivers included runtime isolation and static analysis. Runtime isolation involves running each driver in a separate process or virtual machine to isolate failures. Static analysis techniques inspect source code for issues like concurrency errors, protocol violations, and invalid register values without needing to execute the code. The talk provided statistics on driver faults, discussed the Linux driver model and common bug causes, and outlined techniques like instrumentation and specification-based development to improve driver correctness and security.

He reviewed technologies like Elasticsearch, microservices, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and load balancing. He discussed using MongoDB but noted its limitations and what would be needed for a database to support object-oriented features. He proposed a distributed database approach using file locking and load balancing across multiple machines.

In recent years the sign in experience has changed with the advent of federation via social networks, but whether a user has to type an email address and password or click a link and be redirected via Facebook, the process still interrupts the journey. The Credential Management API, designed by Mike West at Google, is an attempt to help streamline this process at the user agent level. A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function. Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions. Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc. Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
