2. INTRODUCTION
• Micro grid is a local energy network, offers
integration of distributed energy resources
(DER) with local elastic loads, which can
operate in parallel with the grid or in an
intentional island mode.
• It comprises of various small power generating
sources that makes it highly flexible and
efficient.
3. • Size of the Micro grid may range from housing
estate to municipal regions.
• In order to maximise the operation efficiency
of the DERs effective integration is needed
• It enhances the local customer power supply
reliability and minimises the system losses.
4. • A combined wind and solar power system uses
two energy sources with a variable output that
depends on weather conditions, but they can
achieve synergy if used together:
1. The daily output will be more stable
2. Seasonal variations are offset
3. If the installation is off the grid, smaller
battery banks are required
5.
6. • Power Quality is a combination of Voltage
profile, Frequency profile, Harmonics contain
and reliability of power supply.
• The Power Quality is defined as the degree to
which the power supply approaches the ideal
case of stable, uninterrupted, zero distortion
and disturbance free supply.
7. • The main aim of the micro grid is to supply the
quality of power to the connected loads
• But due to the usage of the power electronic
devices in the system many power quality
issues are being raised
• Such as harmonics, voltage fluctuations and
over current etc.,
8. OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of the proposed paper is to
achieve the power quality by
• Reduction of harmonics
• Reduction of voltage fluctuations
• controlling the current
