This document summarizes the results of a survey about depression and suicide administered to 75 students at West High School. The survey consisted of 16 questions to gauge students' experiences with and knowledge of depression and suicide. Key findings include: over 60% knew someone who had depression, 45 students had helped someone with depression, 32 students had experienced depression themselves, and most students were able to identify common signs of depression. The majority believed that depression and suicide were often related, and that bullying, family/friends, and school problems could all contribute to depression.
