2. The Silver Spoon
The slim rounded handle with a smooth bowl shape on one end, metalliccolor cover
its surface with a shining body, a utensil made from metal and grabbing my attention
and leaving a strong lasting impression on the item that place on the kitchen table.A
usually item of daily object but it is important and useful in our life. Any items jump
out from your mind right now? It is used for eating food or with a high liquid content.
For an example, rice, ice-cream, soup and so on. They can be made a larger and
used for serving all types of food and can even be used outdoors for scoop out a
hole. It is a silver spoon. The exploration that based on the silver spoon is the visual
design elements, five senses of a silver spoon, the meaning behind a silver spoon,
spoon as my family member and couple of spoon.
In addition, I do an exploration to test the five senses of silver spoon. Let say the
texture of silver spoon and temperature when I test. Texture of a silver spoon is
feeling like a spoiled egg and the temperature is as cool as cucumber and feel like
handling a cube of ice when I place it into refrigerator and the surface of spoon look
as bright as the sun. Then, the side view from a silver spoon is as nice as a body
curve. After that, the smell of silver spoon is like a metallic smell and sometime smell
like a rusting nails. The feel of silver spoon is feel like as solid as a rock. It will also
produce a beautiful tone when I use silver spoon to knock something.
The special‟s meaning behind silver spoon was use as personification. From
ancient, silver spoon also has the same with wealth, especially inherited wealth. The
kids who burn into a wealthy family is said to have “been born with a silver spoon in
someone mouth”. This is because silver spoon describes someone ho has a well-off

3. background. So, this special meaning has pass on to the next generation and this
description currently used and the meaning still the same.
As continuous, sometimes I imagine that the silver spoon as my family member.
When I was a child until this second, I almost every day keep in touch with spoon. It
accompany every day when I need it. During I having my daily meal, silver spoon
always stay with me and contribute its function. It let me form a happy mood to enjoy
my meal.„Spoon‟ know that when I using it to having my meal, it body will become
dirty and oily but it still sacrifice itself to let me enjoy my meals. This action let me
relevant to my family. My family also will protect me, dedicate me even though they
will injure but they still willing to do it. I will appreciate it along my life.
Above and beyond, everything also hasits own couple. Spoon is also no exception.
I believe that everybody will also know the couple of spoon. Its coupleconsist a
handle with a shank terminating in three or more sharp points, which are usually of
metallic surface, parallel and slightly curve. It is the silver fork. We are using it
together to have our daily meals. When we are holding a spoon, the other hand will
hold a fork. This is a natural phenomenon that will occur on every people.
In the other hands, the visual design elements basedon silver spoon that I had
exploration such as thumbprint, scratches and trademarks. I found that the scratches
of silver spoon are exactly same as the scratches of the surface of iron and then the
trademarks of silver spoon as phoenix. It looks more grandeur and the places of
thumbprint have also a drawing of rice seedling. View of whole entity of silver spoon
like cover a layer of metal silver and shining into my sigh.
Last but not least, along my exploration progress. Ihave felt frustrated and anxious
becausea lot of tools jump into my mind and Icouldn‟t make a decision. After that, Itry

4. to follow step by step to do my works. First, I go into the kitchen and try to find a tool.
Surprise for me, items that snatching my sigh directly that place on tablewas not a
knife, egg-blended and so on. It was an insignificant thing but it is a necessary
characterin our daily life.It was a silver spoon.
