This document discusses the influence of Abdullah Azzam's jihadist ideology on the spread of al-Qaeda violence. It notes that Azzam, a prominent jihadist leader during the Soviet-Afghan war, is considered one of the most important influences on the formation of al-Qaeda's ideology and the attraction of jihadist forces to later join al-Qaeda. The document aims to explore Azzam's jihadist ideology and its role in the spread of al-Qaeda's violent actions.

Dear students and staff members at this university,
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah.
I have been asked to shed some light on Islam as a peaceful religion. In view of the
shortage of time, I can only address this subject briefly.
Whenever one wishes to speak about Islam as a religion of peace, the question
naturally springs to mind that whereas there are so many religions in the world such
as Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., when it comes to finding out
whether Islam is a religion of peace, why should Islam be the odd one out?
One reason for this is that a few years after the beginning of Islam, anti-Islamic
powers began a propaganda that Islam is a religion of extremism and violence and
wants to compel others into belief by means of the sword. This, of course, is
incorrect. In the beginning, the Muslims of Makkah suffered persecution but they
remained silent. Finally, they migrated to Madinah but there too the disbelievers
hounded the Muslims and forced upon them a battle to which I will revert later. The
proof against those opponents who allege that Islam was spread by the sword is that
although the disbelievers of Makkah raised all sorts of objections, yet history stands
witness to the fact that the people of Makkah themselves never complained that the
Muslims had used the sword against the disbelievers to compel them to change their
faith.
Secondly, what has given Islam a bad name is an ugly and awful image of extremism

Justly Balanced Community: Concept, Principles and Aimsijtsrd
All the teachings which Islam gives and instructs are in full conformity with the human nature. They are applicable in all situations and circumstances. There is no excesses or deficiencies found in them. One who acts according to the teachings of Islam is basically acting according to what nature demands of him. Thus in this way, he is fulfilling the genuine demands of the nature on the one hand, and is simultaneously gaining the pleasure of the Lord of the universe on the other hand. The present paper deals with the explanation of how Islam and its principles steer clear of the extremes in all matters of human life. Many examples have been cited to illustrate how the teachings of Islam are free from all kinds of excesses and deficiencies. Light is also thrown on the importance of justly balanced community; its principles, aims, duties, objectives and purpose. The Satanic Verses- Salman Rushdie: A Case Study on Cultural Translation with...Simran Soni
The Satanic Verses is the best example of how culture has been translated to create as big a controversy as THE RUSHDIE AFFAIR. Understanding the text with the discourse of religion was easier since the dream sequences of Gibreel (the protagonist) is filled with allegories on islam and its history. Through this project we tried to understand how SALMAN RUSHDIE translated actual facts; took influences and inspiration from the questioned past of islam; and had the courage to doubt his own faith and islam’s authenticity.
Before deciding on our source text, we analysed and compared the various concepts to work on. Hence we chose the discourse of religion out of other discourses like politics, gender, resistance, violence etc., as it was the most evidently found discourses in the indian context. Moreover the translation form that we opted for was cultural translation out of other forms like transcreation, communicative, literal, etc., since the role and implication of culture in translation studies plays a pivotal role in the indian context. After deciding on the above two concepts we searched for an example (a case) which could be a movie, novel, article etc., that displayed significant characteristics of the applications of above two concepts. After researching on a number of examples we decided to stick to The Satanic Verses as it served the best example to explain cultural translation with religion as a discourse.
DISCOURSE: Any pan human idea which decides your socio-cultural attitudes or implications or aspects.
DISCOURSE AS RELIGION: Religion is a discourse because while living in a society, following a specific culture; a person starts accepting some stereotypes related to religion. Person to person the perception may vary. However, religious discourse is unavoidable. It seems to affect our views on all things. An individual does give it a thought irrespective to what extent he/she might be rational or practical or modern.Religious discourse includes not only statements of personal experiences, but also ethical admonitions, creeds, moral codes, ritual procedures, myths, parables, and so on. Religious discourse extends over an almost indefinite range. It appears to arise out of collective experiences of particular peoples and, does not so much determine what we think, feel, and do as to describe what is thinkable, feel able, and doable. Discourse establishes social stereotypes
CONCLUSION
Clearly, what has most offended Muslims in Rushdie's novel is his use of indecent language in association with sacred characters in Islam, through sequences involving dream, fantasy or madness. In several passages the sacred is even discussed through everyday language of the streets. Rushdie's book has a place in the history of thought, because he has dared to challenge and explore the supremacy of faith in the minds of millions.

Jihadist Networks
Jihadi Salafism:
Jihadi Salafism (also referred to as Salafi Jihadism, Salafism, Salafists, or Salafis), a medieval interpretation of Islam that developed when Arabs were being threatened by Europeans. Jihadi Salafism represents a minority and frequently internally condemned interpretation of Islam, but it is a distinct theological strain of Sunni Islam supported by a global network of scholars, websites, media outlets, and social networks. Bunzel says it is deeply rooted in a theology of militancy. The Muslim Brotherhood champions one school. It formed in Egypt to oppose European imperial rule, to purify religion through education and social service, and to seek the restoration of the caliphate at some distant point in history. A more violent school, represented by ISIS and al Qaeda, seeks to purify Islam and rid Muslim lands of Western influence. ISIS embraces a more extreme intolerant version of Salafism seeking to purge the religion of what it believes are un-Islamic practices, eradicating Shi’ites, and waging offensive wars. Salafis see themselves as the only “true” Muslims, and they have assumed the authority to denounce fellow Muslims “heretics” if they disagree with Jihadi Salafi theology. William McCants (2014a) adds that Jihadi Salafism includes an apocalyptic interpretation of Islam that believes Salafis are called to usher in the final days of creation.
Muslim Brotherhood:
An organization founded by Hassan al Banna in 1928 to recapture the spirit and religious purity of the period of Mohammed and the four Rightly Guided caliphs. The Brotherhood seeks to create a single Muslim nation through education and religious reform. A militant wing founded by Sayyid Qutb sought the same objective through violence. Hamas, a group that defines itself as the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, has rejected the multinational approach in favor of creating a Muslim Palestine.
Al Qaeda:
Al Qaeda from Inception to 9/11 Al Qaeda’s origins can be traced to the Cold War. From 1945 until 1991, the United States and former Soviet Union fought one another with surrogates to avoid a direct superpower nuclear confrontation. Islamic radicals hated Communists for their atheism, and thi.

This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. The juxtaposition of the two materials creates a sense of tension and harmony, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between nature and industry.
