REM behavior disorder (RBD) is a condition where people physically act out their dreams during REM sleep instead of being paralyzed. It can cause them to move limbs, get out of bed, talk, shout or hit things. RBD usually affects men over 50 and is linked to neurological disorders like Parkinson's disease. A diagnosis requires sleep studies to show the lack of paralysis during REM sleep. Treatment typically involves clonazepam which helps in 90% of cases.
