2. What is Domestic Project Group in your opinion?
• The Domestic Projects Group is the SOLUTION PROVIDER of
Voltas.
• We provide solutions for all three AIR, WATER and POWER.
• The verticals - WMBD, HVAC, EMRBG, RIEL.
• The most diversified and complicated business group of
Voltas:
Projects, Detail Engineering, Manufacturing, Equipment
• A CONGLOMERATE by itself.
• WMBD – Complete scope of designing and delivering on
turnkey basis.

3. • “ Facts are not science as the dictionary is not the literature “
• Basic corporate etiquettes and the distribution of labour between
different teams.
• Basic Engineering skills – Treatment techniques, P & ID , Process
Calculations etc.
• The functioning of an ETP and the real requirement of the field.
- DAF, MBBR, BAS, FILTER PRESS, CLARIFIER, CCT
• Managerial aspects :
- To answer the questionnaire not the question.
- To do the work with people , not getting it done. (Earning the command
not imposing it)
- Numbers and data are good friends.
• I transformed from a LIABILITY TO AN ASSET at BNPM, Mysuru.

My learning's during 2016-17

4. Any contribution during 2016-17
 The successful operation(taking full load 21m3/hr and delivering 100 ppm)
of the Dissolved Air Floatation (DAF) unit at the paper and pulp ETP at
BNPM, Mysuru (FIRST ZLD of INDIA).
 The drastic reduction in the coagulant consumption of the pulp DAF at
BNPM site.(15000 to 20000/day saved for the client). Reduced from 1200
ppm to 100 ppm.
 Stopped the viscous flocculant completely. (30000/ month)
 The successful Performance Guarantee Test Run (PGTR) of the ETP at
BNPM. (Except some units)
 The removal of excess chemicals from the UF inlet.

5. Any IDEA that would change VOLTAS

•Being specific with WMBD I think Voltas
should rise above just being an EPC(C)
contractor and have its own treatment plant
by which we would directly serve the end
customers. (Just like TATA steel plant )
•By virtue of this initiative we would serve
the TATA value of giving back to the society
and remove the middle authority whose
competency and transparency is
questionable .
•We are industrialists not meagre
businessmen.
•The project can be executed on a PPP
format or fully our own venture by which we
will directly be answerable to the people and
we can reduce the price of a glass of purified
water consumed by a common man.
•As a nascent individual in the field of water I
can perform some basic engineering jobs
and I would require a huge support from our
think tank and top management to provide
skilled professionals , which the
management is already doing in EPC jobs.

 Exposure of GET to tougher situations professionally.
