Understanding users’ latent intents behind search queries is essential for satisfying a user’s search needs. Search intent mining can help search engines to enhance its ranking of search results, enabling new search features like instant answers, personalization, search result diversification, and the recommendation of more relevant ads. Consequently, there has been increasing attention on studying how to effectively mine search intents by analyzing search engine query logs. While state-of-the-art techniques can identify the domain of the queries (e.g. sports, movies, health), identifying domain-specific intent is still an open problem. Among all the topics available on the Internet, health is one of the most important in terms of impact on the user and it is one of the most frequently searched areas. This dissertation presents a knowledge-driven approach for domain-specific search intent mining with a focus on health-related search queries.
First, we identified 14 consumer-oriented health search intent classes based on inputs from focus group studies and based on analyses of popular health websites, literature surveys, and an empirical study of search queries. We defined the problem of classifying millions of health search queries into zero or more intent classes as a multi-label classification problem. Popular machine learning approaches for multi-label classification tasks (namely, problem transformation and algorithm adaptation methods) were not feasible due to the limitation of label data creations and health domain constraints. Another challenge in solving the search intent identification problem was mapping terms used by laymen to medical terms. To address these challenges, we developed a semantics-driven, rule-based search intent mining approach leveraging rich background knowledge encoded in Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) and a crowd sourced encyclopedia (Wikipedia). The approach can identify search intent in a disease-agnostic manner and has been evaluated on three major diseases.
While users often turn to search engines to learn about health conditions, a surprising amount of health information is also shared and consumed via social media, such as public social platforms like Twitter. Although Twitter is an excellent information source, the identification of informative tweets from the deluge of tweets is the major challenge. We used a hybrid approach consisting of supervised machine learning, rule-based classifiers, and biomedical domain knowledge to facilitate the retrieval of relevant and reliable health information shared on Twitter in real time. Furthermore, we extended our search intent mining algorithm to classify health-related tweets into health categories. Finally, we performed a large-scale study to compare health search intents and features that contribute in the expression of search intent from 100+ million search queries from smarts devices (smartphones/tablets) and personal computers (desktops/laptops)

Background: IBM Watson Health (http://www.ibm.com/smarterplanet/us/en/ibmwatson/health/) belongs to a new generation of smart cognitive computing technologies (a type of artificial intelligence) that are poised to transform the way healthcare is delivered, and to vastly improve clinical outcomes, quality of care and patient safety.
Objectives: Our goal was to collect and document the huge potential of a range of emerging and exemplary uses of IBM Watson in healthcare in both developed and developing country settings.
Methods: A survey of current peer reviewed and grey literature has been conducted, looking for reports and case studies involving the use of IBM Watson in different health and healthcare applications.
Results, conclusions and clinical implications: With its ability to make sense of unstructured medical information by analysing the meaning and context of natural language, and uncovering important knowledge buried within large volumes of data and information, including medical images, IBM Watson is exceptionally well suited for clinical and healthcare decision support, where there are often elements of ambiguity and uncertainty. It has been (or is currently being) successfully deployed in many developed countries in the West, as well as in developing countries, such as India and South Africa. IBM Watson unlocks a complex case by acquiring information from multiple sources, e.g., accessing the electronic patient record, then parsing all related medical evidence at up to 60 million pages per second. After processing all of this information, Watson offers relevant and prioritised suggestions to the decision-maker, e.g., helping clinicians identify the best diagnosis and treatment options in complex oncology cases, and providing hospital managers with new operational insights. The ultimate goals are to reduce cost, medical errors, mortality rates, and help improve patients' quality of life.

Most of the developers use the cross-platform mobile development solutions to develop the mobile
application once and run it on many platforms. Many of these cross-platform solutions are still under
research and development. Also, these solutions are based on different approaches such as Cross-
Compilation approach, Virtual Machine approach, and Web-Based approach. There are many survey
papers about the cross-platform mobile development solutions but they do not include the most recent
tools, including Component-Based approach, Cloud-Based approach, and Merged approach. The main aim
of this paper is helping the researchers to know the most recent approaches and the open research issues.
This paper surveys the existing cross platform mobile development tools, introduces a comprehensive
categorization to the cross-platform tools, defines the pros and cons of each approach and compares the
cross-platform mobile development solutions.
Medical Images are regularly of low contrast and boisterous/Noisy (absence of clarity) because of
the circumstances they are being taken. De-noising these pictures is a troublesome undertaking as they
ought to exclude any antiquities or obscuring of edges in the pictures. The Bayesian shrinkage strategy has
been chosen for thresholding in light of its sub band reliance property. The spatial space and Wavelet
based de-noising systems utilizing delicate thresholding strategy are contrasted and the proposed technique
utilizing GA (Genetic Algorithm) is used. The GA procedure is proposed in view of PSNR and results are

external environment. Three main responsibilities are important to complete in order to prepare for the planning
process. These responsibilities include forecasting the demand for labor, performing a supply analysis, and balancing
supply and demand considerations.

Using hashtags to organize discussions about specific cancers may be useful. This study describes the use and growth of organized disease-specific hashtags to expand access to reliable health information. This approach may be useful with other diseases but needs further study.

of information available today due to its sheer volume and noise. This study is based on the work by Scott
Spangler and Jeffrey Kreulen and applies it to identify structure in social media through the extraction of a
topical taxonomy able to capture the latent knowledge in social conversations in health-related sites. The
mechanism for automatically identifying and generating a taxonomy from social conversations is developed and
pressured tested using public data from media sites focused on the needs of cancer patients and their families.
Moreover, a novel method for generating the category’s label and the determination of an optimal number of
categories is presented which extends Scott and Jeffrey’s research in a meaningful way. We assume the reader is

Em consonância com os ODS – Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável e a Estratégia Global para a Saúde das Mulheres, Crianças e Adolescentes, e aplicando uma abordagem baseada nos direitos humanos, os esforços de cuidados pós-natais devem expandir-se para além da cobertura e da simples sobrevivência, de modo a incluir cuidados de qualidade.
Estas diretrizes visam melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados pós-natais essenciais e de rotina prestados às mulheres e aos recém-nascidos, com o objetivo final de melhorar a saúde e o bem-estar materno e neonatal.
Uma “experiência pós-natal positiva” é um resultado importante para todas as mulheres que dão à luz e para os seus recém-nascidos, estabelecendo as bases para a melhoria da saúde e do bem-estar a curto e longo prazo. Uma experiência pós-natal positiva é definida como aquela em que as mulheres, pessoas que gestam, os recém-nascidos, os casais, os pais, os cuidadores e as famílias recebem informação consistente, garantia e apoio de profissionais de saúde motivados; e onde um sistema de saúde flexível e com recursos reconheça as necessidades das mulheres e dos bebês e respeite o seu contexto cultural.
Estas diretrizes consolidadas apresentam algumas recomendações novas e já bem fundamentadas sobre cuidados pós-natais de rotina para mulheres e neonatos que recebem cuidados no pós-parto em unidades de saúde ou na comunidade, independentemente dos recursos disponíveis.
É fornecido um conjunto abrangente de recomendações para cuidados durante o período puerperal, com ênfase nos cuidados essenciais que todas as mulheres e recém-nascidos devem receber, e com a devida atenção à qualidade dos cuidados; isto é, a entrega e a experiência do cuidado recebido.
