 Energy is defined as the capacity or ability to do work. Different
forms of energy exist: kinetic energy, potential energy, chemical
energy etc. unit of energy is Joule/Calorie/Horsepower/Kilowatt-
hour etc.
 Energy conservation is the decision and practice of
using less energy. Turning off the light when you leave
the room, unplugging appliances when they're not in
use and walking instead of driving are all examples of
energy conservation.

• Caring About Future Generations: Maintain our legacy
• Doing Our Part: Being good for our planet.
Reduce the effect of global worming.
Makes good impact on our health
• Energy Independence: Less energy used = independence
• Increase Efficiency and Reduce Wear and Tear: Result of
shutting things off or using them less
Saving energy reduces
Air pollution, Water pollution, Reduce Carbon footprint,
Global worming,
& conserves natural resources,
Which in turn creates a
Healthier living environment for people everywhere. At
the same time,
saves money ,creates jobs and help to reduce other costs
and Expenses.
Considering at present consumption levels-
Crude oil: Reserves equivalent to 46.6 times its annual consumption
levels. This means it has about 47 years of oil left.
(1 years of oil left Bangladesh)
Natural gas up to 53 years (world) (7 years of natural gas left in
Bangladesh).
Fossil Fuel Reserve -2023
Considering at present consumption levels-
Coal up to 114 years In world
Bangladesh has proven reserves equivalent to 153.8 times its
annual consumption
Ever thought of life without oil and gas?
So one liter of diesel will give up about 3.3kWh
That will emitted 2.68 kg of CO2.
It may save 5 to 6 % of energy
 We replace one 100W bulb with a 10 W LED.
Let us assume electricity is available for Tk. 8.84 per unit, and this
bulb is used for 6 Hours a day.
 The annual saving would be….
 Power saved: 100W-10W = 90W
=90 W X 6 Hours X 365 Days
=197100 WH
=197.1 kWH or Units (8.84 Tk /unit)
=1742.364 Tk /Year
Save; 59.7 ltr diesel, Reduce 160 kg CO2 emission.
The average electricity generation cost of the Bangladesh Power Development Board
(BPDB) was Tk 8.84/kWh

In 100 ( 7.03)kg/cm2 PSI pressure steam line 1/8 inch diameter leakage
losses is around 2.5 lakh TK/year
In 120 PSI (8.4 kg/cm2) pressure Compressed air line 1/16 inch diameter
leakage losses is around 1 lakh/year
Together, we have the power to save energy!
Around 10% to 15% of energy conservation potentially comes
from occupant behavior.
