The Customer
Barco designs sight, sound, and sharing solutions to help people work
together, share insights, and wow audiences. The company focuses on three
core markets: Enterprise (from meeting and control rooms to corporate
spaces), Healthcare (from the radiology department to the operating room),
and Entertainment (from movie theaters to live events and attractions).
Headquartered in Belgium, Barco has more than 3,500 employees located in
90 countries. For 6 consecutive years, the company has posted sales of over
1 billion euro.
The Challenge
Barco’s wireless presentation system, ClickShare, is an easy to use solution
for sharing content from laptops or mobile devices on a main presentation
screen in a meeting or conference room. It is experiencing rapid business
growth. To support ClickShare’s quickly expanding business, Barco decided
to select a third party strategic partner to accelerate product development
cycles and time to market.
Barco’s internal resources were fully focused on the development of the
ClickShare hardware portfolio, so the company was faced with a shortage of
qualified engineers to design other key components of the product, in
particular the central management tool, Collaboration Management Suite
(CMGS).
In addition, Barco lacked in-house expertise in some specific areas of
software development and testing, creating delays in the specification and
development of the complete range of ClickShare products.

daily contact with Barco’s project and product managers for
both front and back-end applications. Using agile
management methods, Enea was able to execute the project
efficiently and carry it successfully to completion.
Value-Added Contribution
The most challenging development areas became essential
features of the Collaboration Management Suite: status
monitoring, scheduling of software updates, user
management, integration of ClickShare base units in customer
networks, clone configuration and remote wallpaper
installation. Enea experts contributed to developing the most
important remote setup and management features for IT
admins in the base units: auto-update, network settings and
configuration, security settings, communication diagnostics,
and restart. They also worked on the automated status
information of the base units (automated pooling request
every 30 seconds).
In addition, Enea performed rigorous Q&A tests and controls
on both hardware and software elements of the product for
each version of CMGS launched on the market. This ensured
the highest product quality and the best customer experience
for the full ClickShare product portfolio.
