This document summarizes a site visit to the RiverStone Eco Resort on April 15-16, 2013. It describes observations of the site's pond ecosystem, including tadpoles, dragonflies, water lilies, and algae. It also notes trash in the pond that could pollute the water and disrupt the food chain. Samples were collected, including the red imported fire ant and Turkey tail fungus, which are described in terms of their characteristics, life cycles, defenses, and medicinal uses. The reflection concludes that the visit enhanced understanding of ecosystems and human responsibility to care for them.
