The document summarizes a student group project on representing nature. The group of 5 students chose plants and animals to research. They researched a rubber tree, elephant ears plant, touch-me-not plant, dragonfly, and guppy fish. They created an infographic with information about the plants and animals. They also made a model of their field site and planned an exhibition booth to display their work.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Project Aim : Experience and Appreciate
Nature
2. In this project, we need to
investigate and record at least one
plant.
3. The Plants I researched on:
1. Rubber Tree
(That’s the mark left by
tapping it to get the latex out
of it)
4. Rubber Tree - Information
I found a rubber trees around my site and decided to do a
research on it.
Rubber trees have a milky liquid that come out from under the
skin of its tree trunk called latex. Latex is the primary source of
natural rubber.
Rubber trees are usually seen it plantation area, it has the height
of about 100m
Rubber trees can live up to 100 years.
5. The Plants I researched on
2. Colocasia Esculenta
(Elephant Ears)
(The Giant leaves of
the Colocasia)
(The corm of Colocasia –
Under ground)
6. Colocasia Esculenta (Elephant
Ear) - Information
Colocasia Esculenta also called the Elephant Ear is known as the
giant leaves plant.
Its leaves can reach the length of 20 – 150 cm, with a sagittate
shape.
This plant is thought to be cultivated in Asia more than 10,000
years ago. They cultivated it to harvest the corm on its roots.
If the leaves were to be eaten, it will cause intense discomfort to
the lips, mouth, and throat. This is caused by microscopic needle
like raphides of calcium oxalate monohydrate and in part by
another chemical, probably a protease, and have the goal to
deter herbivores from eating it.
7. Sketch of my plant
In this project,
we need to
choose one
plant for our
infographic, and
so I chose this
plant.
(My plant sketch)
8. The Plants I researched on:
(The closing/seismonastic
movement of “Mimosa Pudica”)
3. Mimosa Pudica
(Touch me not)
9. Mimosa Pudica (Touch me not) -
Information
I found this one just right under the rubber trees.
Mimosa Pudica or also know as Touch me not, is a very
interesting plant that closes every time they are touched,
warmed, blew and even shaked.
This interesting closing movement is known as “Seismonastic
movement”.
10. In this project, we need to
investigate and record at
least one animal/insect.
11. The Animals I researched on:
(Dragonfly outstretched
wings at rest)
(Dragonfly eyes – stick
to each other)
1. Dragonfly
12. Dragonfly - Information
Dragonfly is actually one of the fastest flying insect in the world
and even though they have 6 legs like other insect, they cannot
walk well.
People usually mistake a damselfly as a dragonfly because they
almost look the same in every aspect except that, the wings of a
dragonfly were outstretched at rest while damselfly’s wings were
held together, dragonfly’s hindwings are broader that their
forewings while damselfly’s wings have the same size,
dragonfly’s eyes are stick to each other while damselfly’s
separated and most of dragonflies are bigger than damselflies.
Today, we have more than 5,680 species of dragonfly
13. Sketch of my animal/insect
In this project we
need to choose
one animal/insect
for our infographic,
and so I chose this
animal/insect.
(My insect sketch)
14. The Animals I researched on:
(Female Guppy Fish)
(Male Guppy Fish)
3. Guppy Fish (Wild)
15. Guppy Fish(wild) - Information
Female Guppy fish are grey in color and male have splashes,
spots or stripes that can be any of a wide variety of colors.
Guppy fish are native to Antiqua, Barbuda, Barbados, Brazil,
Guyana, Jamaica, Netherlands Antilles, Trinidad, Tobago, U.S.
Virgin Islands and Venezuela.
Guppy fish, like humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes including
1 pair of sex chromosomes
Guppy fish are freshwater fish, they prefer live in a hard water
aquarium with temperature between 25.5 and 27.8 degree C and
salt equivalent to one tablespoon every 5 US gallons (4
liter/3.785 liter)
16. In this project, we also need
to record our 5 senses while
we were on the site visit (at
Riverstone Eco Resort).
17. 5 Senses - See
At Riverstone Eco
Resort, I can see
green thick forest, a
very refreshing and
relaxing moment.
Just by seeing it, I
can feel my eyes
refreshed.
18. 5 Senses - Hear
There, I heard the sounds
of the flowing river and
birds chirpings, the relaxing
sounds that you cannot find
in cities.
19. 5 Senses - Taste
(These pictures is taken from the internet as we don’t
have the picture of the food and us, drinking the river
water, but we did drank the river water and the picture of
the food is the picture of the food at Riverstone Eco
Resort) Sorry for that.
The river water was
tasteless, prove of the
good/clean quality of the
water. We also tasted the
food there and they were
so tasty, they tease my
taste buds)
20. 5 Senses - Smell
There, I can smell fresh
air everywhere I go, in the
morning, noon, afternoon
and even in the night. The
fresh air relaxed my mind
21. 5 Senses - Feel
The trees beside the river is rough and
rugged, while the river water is cold and I
can feel the rough sands underneath.
22. (The note taking we were required
to do on our site about our 5
senses and the pattern, texture,
color, the relationship of the
ecosystem, landscape, soil and
anything we could find there)
Note taking
23. Ecosystem Understanding
The natural landscape of the Ecosystem is made of land and river.
There we have trees and plants that act as the animal’s refuge, we have
several food webs there and even though some of the animals/insects there
are preying over animals/insects that are smaller, they too sometimes
become the prey of a bigger animals/insects.
We have various types of plants and animals/insects there, and some
plants depend on the other to survive. The river flow have create an erosion
that causes the ground around the river to be unstable and slid down to the
river, now the roots of the trees around the river are exposed because of
that, it made the roots connect directly to the river and it looks like some fish
took that as an advantage and make it their home.

like, with stands)
(This is how we present it, without the stands –
we decided not to use the stands because we
need to turn it around to show it to the lecturers,
which is already out of our expectations, because
we originally think that we are going to display it,
and that’s why we make the stands)
