Cloud computing is an environment where computing resources are provided as internet-based services. There are three main types of cloud services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Traditional access control techniques assume data owners and storage servers are in the same trusted domain, but this is no longer true when data is outsourced to a remote cloud service provider outside the trusted domain. Cloud service providers need safeguards against dishonest data owners.
