Social Problem Research
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) boasts over 130,000 members, making it the largest professional social workers’ membership organization globally. The organization protects, develops, and promotes professional social work practice and the welfare of its members. It also deals with the creation and maintenance of professional standards and seeks to enhance the well-being of people, families, and communities within the society through advocacy practices. Furthermore, it aims to improve the quality of life of all people in the nation through the practical tackling of social problems such as homeless, HIV/AIDs and other infections, racism and sexism, etc. It enhances the well-being of individuals and groups through its charitable organization, National Association of Social Workers Foundation (NASWF), which was founded in 2001.
Working under the auspices of NASWF, NASW has the goal of rapidly assisting with social crises response, promotion of [practice-based and evidence-based research, supporting education and research, etc. In a nutshell, NASW provides intervention to various social problems, including tackling the issue of homelessness. Hence, this program will address the problem of homelessness in Michigan. The program evaluation will be conducted using both qualitative and quantitative social research methods.
Therefore, first, how do I know that I have a legitimate research problem in Michigan? Homeless people refers to those who lack regular, fixed, and adequate residences to spend in at night, or those whose primary residences are temporary, or any place that is not recommended for people to get sleeping accommodation or those who live in temporary and supervised shelter. Homeless people do not have stable housing in both rural and urban areas and come from various demographic backgrounds. They also face several health concerns. Hence, it poses a severe public healthcare concern that needs a quick and structured social work service.
Apart from the qualitative underpinning, homelessness is as widespread in Michigan as it is in the entire US. Over 744,313 people, including children, women, and men, were homeless in the US by 2005 (Social Work Policy Institute, 2010). Globally, over a billion people lack adequate housing, of which 100 million are entirely destitute of homes. About 5.4 million families are at risk of becoming homeless because of sufficient income to afford to pay their rent. It is highly probable that over 66,051individuals in Michigan are considered homeless, with the statistics including 41,338 unsheltered and 24,713 sheltered homeless people. The majority of the people considered homeless in Michigan are adults.
Delineating the subparts of the homelessness as a social problem in this research project would be a complicated process. The evaluation criteria follo.

ABSTRACT : Purpose – This study describes the role of psychological capital in the relationship between
organizational culture and transformational leadership behavior towards Readiness for Changes in the context of
elementary school teachers in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi.
Design/methodology/approach - This study adopted an inferential research design. This is a cross-sectional
study because data were collected at a one-time point. This empirical study was conducted on a sample of 285
elementary school teachers who were willing to collaborate to participate voluntarily by filling in the online
questionnaire. Data analysis was divided into two parts; the first part analyzed the respondent's profile and
presented the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondent's profile. The second part was hypothesis
testing with two stages, namely the LS Algorithm to see data quality data and PLS Bootstrapping to test the
hypothesis of the proposed research model. The software includes the Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS) MS-Windows version 23 and Partial Least Square (Smart PLS-3).
Findings - Organizational culture directly affects psychological capital andreadiness to change and indirectly on
readiness for change through psychological means. Psychological Capital has a direct effect on willingness to
change. Transformational leadership behavior directly impacts psychological capital but does not directly affect
readiness to change and does not indirectly affect readiness to change through psychological means.
Research limitations/implications – The online cross-sectional survey design allows for the self-assessment of
data from respondents. The consequence is that response bias persists, although post-sampling statistical tests
were conducted to screen data to reduce it. Therefore, a more qualitative method with a longitudinal design and
a more extensive research sample is recommended for further research.
Practical implications - School administrators and higher authorities can promote readiness for cultural change,
leadership, and teacher psychological factors, as schools face constant and continuous change interventions.
This is expected to have an impact on improving the quality of educators, students, and the quality of Indonesian
education

In order to increase the focus on teaching civic responsibility, policy must be in place supporting this goal. A school leader must be willing to invest time and funds into planning, training, and implementing curriculum that emphasizes civics. Staff members may have different levels of interest, understanding, and comfort when it comes to incorporating civic responsibility into their teaching, so providing professional development in this area would be critical. The strategic plan for integrating civic responsibility and the expectations for each teacher’s involvement should be clearly communicated. In addition to establishing these policies regarding civics education, the school leader and teachers must work to model civic responsibility. In addition to sharing his or her vision for increased focus on civics with the school staff, the school leader should work to share his or her vision with school board members, other district personnel including the superintendent, and the greater community. Lastly, school leaders need to support their staff as they take risks and work to develop and implement new activities, discussions, and projects centered around teaching civic responsibility.

In leading my staff in this part of the curriculum, I would work to secure professional development related to civic responsibility, as this is not an area that I have expertise in, and work as a staff to develop our vision and implementation goals. elementary school teachers in Sungai Penuh City, Jambi.
Design/methodology/approach - This study adopted an inferential research design. This is a cross-sectional
study because data were collected at a one-time point. This empirical study was conducted on a sample of 285
elementary school teachers who were willing to collaborate to participate voluntarily by filling in the online
questionnaire. Data analysis was divided into two parts; the first part analyzed the respondent's profile and
presented the frequency and percentage distribution of the respondent's profile. The second part was hypothesis
testing with two stages, namely the LS Algorithm to see data quality data and PLS Bootstrapping to test the
hypothesis of the proposed research model. The software includes the Statistical Package for Social Sciences
(SPSS) MS-Windows version 23 and Partial Least Square (Smart PLS-3).
Findings - Organizational culture directly affects psychological capital andreadiness to change and indirectly on
readiness for change through psychological means. Psychological Capital has a direct effect on willingness to
change. Transformational leadership behavior directly impacts psychological capital but does not directly affect
readiness to change and does not indirectly affect readiness to change through psychological means.
Research limitations/implications – The online cross-sectional survey design allows for the self-assessment of
data from respondents. The consequence is that response bias persists, although post-sampling statistical tests
were conducted to screen data to reduce it. Therefore, a more qualitative method with a longitudinal design and
a more extensive research sample is recommended for further research.
Practical implications - School administrators and higher authorities can promote readiness for cultural change,
leadership, and teacher psychological factors, as schools face constant and continuous change interventions.
This is expected to have an impact on improving the quality of educators, students, and the quality of Indonesian
education

In order to increase the focus on teaching civic responsibility, policy must be in place supporting this goal. A school leader must be willing to invest time and funds into planning, training, and implementing curriculum that emphasizes civics. Staff members may have different levels of interest, understanding, and comfort when it comes to incorporating civic responsibility into their teaching, so providing professional development in this area would be critical. The strategic plan for integrating civic responsibility and the expectations for each teacher’s involvement should be clearly communicated. In addition to establishing these policies regarding civics education, the school leader and teachers must work to model civic responsibility. In addition to sharing his or her vision for increased focus on civics with the school staff, the school leader should work to share his or her vision with school board members, other district personnel including the superintendent, and the greater community. Lastly, school leaders need to support their staff as they take risks and work to develop and implement new activities, discussions, and projects centered around teaching civic responsibility.

In leading my staff in this part of the curriculum, I would work to secure professional development related to civic responsibility, as this is not an area that I have expertise in, and work as a staff to develop our vision and implementation goals. I would also provide examples such as the work of the exemplar schools described in the article in integrating civic responsibility across all content areas, implementing service-learning programs, and creating partnerships between the school and community. I would also work within PLTs to develop ways that civic responsibility could be incorporated within their curriculum and remind them that they have my support as they embark on this endea
