Charles Tyrwhitt – London 
Charles Tyrwhitt is a true multi-channel retailer operating web, mail order and 22 stores across three countries and 
delivering to over fifty countries. 
September 2013 to present: Junior Branch Merchandiser 
Reporting to the head of Merchandising and managing two junior team members I control day to day merchandise 
operations of both the UK and international retail channels of the company, circa £39m per annum as part of an overall 
turnover now in excess of £200m. 
 Solely responsible for trading, managing intake/OTB/terminal stock for US division of CT stores including 
margin forecasting & terminal stock exit routes. 
 Working closely with Core Buyers, Merchandisers and directly with suppliers to ensure quantities, deliveries, 
phasing and critical paths tie in with store range, promotions, product change, demand and space 
 Exclusively accountable for orders sent directly to US stores from supplier and UK distribution centre including 
supplier liaison for merchandising, couriers & forwarders regarding paperwork, freight costs and compliance 
with US regulations 
 Played a key role in the opening of a US distribution centre, working closely with Systems, Operational Team & 
Retail US to implement new procedures and manage DC intake, stock integrity & despatch 
 Ensure that we operate within our retail budget, and scrutinising stock levels and sell though in WSSI's to 
ensure correct product availability with the Core Merch teams 
 Fully conversant with our customer and market to enable space, sales and product analysis to ensure accurate 
selling price to drive margin for both existing stores and during the design phase of new stores 
 Producing an accurate store grading procedure to aid store replenishment and product change through the 
company’s retail expansion 
 Manage and develop two junior team members of MAA and AM levels, setting targets and regularly reviewing 
against them 
 Effective margin management via season on season sell through
March 2009 to September 2013: Retail MAA through to Junior Retail Merchandiser 
Reported to the Senior Retail Merchandiser and managed two junior team members I controlled day to day merchandise 
operations of both the UK and international retail channels of the company, circa £35m per annum as part of an overall 
turnover now in excess of £200m. 
 Solely responsible for all strategic and range planning, trading, managing intake/OTB/terminal stock for US 
division of CT stores including margin forecasting. 
 Constructing individual range plans each season for retail stores in the UK, Paris and US by working closely with 
product buyers, merchandisers and directly with suppliers to ensure quantities, deliveries, phasing and critica l 
paths tie in with store range, promotions, product change, demand and capacity 
 Solely responsible for retail merchandising, and in cases the buying aspect, of the 4 outlet based stores along 
with the 5 international stores, this includes KPI analysis, store promotions, pricing structures, replenishment, 
shop layout and product; retail only buys, range planning, volume & sell through monitoring 
 Exclusively accountable for orders sent directly to US stores from supplier and UK distribution centre including 
supplier liaison for merchandising, couriers & forwarders regarding paperwork, freight costs and compliance 
with US regulations 
 Ensure that we operate within our retail budget, constructing delivery schedules for the stores and scrutinising 
stock levels and sell though in WSSI's to ensure correct product availability 
 Manage and develop two junior team members of MAA and AM levels, setting targets and regularly reviewing

 Working from B&M planned ranges & Retail budgets to compile buy stack-ups for individual stores each season 
 Effective margin management via season on season sell through 
Animal Clothing – Poole 
Animal operate a combination of over 50 UK and overseas retail stores along with several hundred in-store 
franchise around the globe with an annual turnover of £40m. 
November 2007 to November 2008: Assistant Merchandiser 
Supporting the Merchandise Manager in the creation of a range of initiatives to drive improved store and franchise 
performance along with the day to day management. 
 Sole responsibility for the NRRP through liaison with stores and the wholesale division to manage stock returns 
 Monitoring and managing store stock levels to prevent under and over stock situations on a store by store basis 
 Through effective use of WSSI and OTB analysis influence allocation and replenishment decisions 
 Understanding store stock needs through grading rules, incorporating market type, store density, delivery 
frequency, store grouping and customer profile 
 Co-ordinating the initiation of ‘auto-replenishment’ processes within the merchandising team 
 Undertook regular store visits to gain insight into consumer and product profiles, store stock levels and related 
promotional activity 
 Responsibility for the Retail and partner store Trading Reports for departmental and company meetings 
Varsity Bar – Southampton 
A chain of 20 university based bars, owned by Barracuda Pub Company where I started as a bar tender and then 
operated as a duty manager. 
May 2005 to January 2007: Duty Manager 
 Cash handling including end of day processes, stock taking and management along with general housekeeping 
duties including ensuring compliance with licensing laws 
 Recognising and complying with health and safety laws in the context of food handling 
 Delegation of day to day tasks, team management and responsibility for the premises 
 Responsible for training staff at other Varsity branches

I have undertaken a range of event organisational roles such as Solent University Open Days and Inductions 
through to promotional events for Basillica Sailing.

Interests 
I take a keen interest in two areas; fashion, where I like to keep abreast of changes within the industry including 
continually designing pieces for my personal portfolio which recently included designing and making the wedding 
dress and bridesmaid’s dresses for a friend’s wedding. 
In addition to this I enjoy reading, ensuring I am familiar with forthcoming trends and like to keep fit through 
running and visiting the gym.
