Buddhism originated in India in the 6th-5th century BCE. Buddhists follow the Five Precepts taught by the Buddha, which are abstaining from taking life, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, false speech, and intoxicants. However, Buddhism does not have moral absolutes, and instead advises individuals to consider their motivations and the consequences of actions when making moral decisions.
