My English teacher had a profound influence on me in high school. Not only did he teach me important academic skills, he helped me gain confidence and express my opinions. Whereas my previous English teacher was disrespectful, my new teacher created a supportive learning environment where he encouraged creative thinking and critical analysis. He taught lessons in fun ways to engage students, like having us invent imaginary products to advertise. His passion and caring approach transformed my attitude towards English and helped me discover my strengths.
