This document summarizes research into developing a lower-cost method for real-time terahertz (THz) imaging using digital light processing and compressed sensing. The method projects coded apertures onto silicon using a DLP projector instead of fixed physical masks, allowing reconfigurable apertures. It also uses compressed sensing to reduce frame acquisition times by at least 40%, bringing real-time video rates closer to feasibility. The researchers believe with optimization, their approach could achieve real-time video imaging at resolutions up to 1k pixels for applications like medical diagnostics and quality control.
