On April 29, 1979 in Taco, Tenerife, the guards of a factory found a large dead dog with two small holes in its body and all its internal organs removed. Its blood had been drained without any struggle. Three days later, other dogs and goats were found in the same condition. The wounds were precise, as if done by a surgeon. Police could not find any explanation. Local people called it "The Vampire of the Night". Sightings of strange lights and a mythical creature called Tibicena that drained animals led to speculation that the mysterious Chupacabras was responsible.
