Benefits of ehCOS Analytics
1. Overview of the state of the organization through its dashboards
2. Monitoring compliance with the strategic objectives of the organization
through indicator targets and/or alerts
3. Single data repository, regardless of the information systems of origin
4. Direct access to data without the need for report requests to IT
5. Possibility of benchmarking with other centers of similar conditions
1. More in-depth treatment of information depending on the user needs (center,
service, section, patient and episode)
2. Information sharing
3. Mainstreaming data: analysis of the care process
4. Direct access to data without the need for report requests to IT and the
possibility of creating new dashboards without technical expertise.
1. Single access for user management, usage monitoring and ETL-processes
monitoring
2. Plug & Play Product. It only requires a technician to manage the roles and user
permissions
3. Minimal workload with ehCOS Analytics

The technological challenge was how to leverage all the capabilities of MicroStrategy as an analytical
tool that integrates seamlessly into a standard management application.
So we decided to add a portal layer that extends the product functions without limits, minimizing the
time to market.
Technological challenges - Architecture
Modularity
The portal is one more layer that
provides extra functionality, however,
Microstrategy is fully functional
independently.
Security
Authentication, role and user
management is fully integrated and
does not cause added adminsitrative
work.
Future Compatibility
None of the implemented functions or
integrations should jeopradize future
upgrades of Microstrategy and Liferay.
Integration Rules
Usability and Design
The user must perceive, regardless of
the functions in use, that they are
working within a single application.

Results
Proprietary dashboards
Use of completely proprietary visual
componets external to Microstrategy
Calls are made through the SDK provided by Microstrategy to obtain the information for viewing,
mainly for data stored in reports.
The screen is designed and created with the screen-creation tool, using proprietary components and
providing them with the data obtained through the SDK
Partially proprietary dashboards
Microstrategy functions embedded in the
presentation application
Includes functions that support Microstrategy data mining (Alerts, Goals, Dropdown Menus, etc).
Includes stylesheets and configuration plugins to change appearance.
HTML coded Dashboards
Style sheet applications
Treatment of HTML code
Result: Development of new visual components. (Example: Selector Panel)
Visual redesign of
MicroStrategy
dashboards through:
Dashboards with event management
Creating new dashboard with mutually interactive parts by combining 2 dashboards
without native communication through MicroStrategy event capture and management.
Functional and visual redesign.
Combined Microstrategy
dashboards.
