Effects Of Abolish Minimum Wage
Abolish Minimum Wage
According to the Minimum Wage Review 2015, conducted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), when the minimum
wage was set at $14.75, 74,900 people were impacted. The same study showed that by increasing the minimum wage by only 5.1% to $15.25 an
additional 77,800 people would be affected and it would cost the Government $22.82million dollars annually. According to the 2016Minimum Wage
Review, again conducted by MBIE, after the minimum wage was set to $15.25, if they were to increase the minimum wage to $19.25 (still below the
recommended living wage of $20.20) approximately 28,000 people would lose their jobs and there would be an increased cost of approximately
$543.55million dollars annually.
While we all know that a higher than minimum wage income would go a long way towards raisin economic standards of areas where minimum
wage jobs are prevalent, a higher minimum wage could also have adverse effects as well (Laffer, 2016). For employees, minimum wage work
translates into income, standard of living, education and taxes which make up our entire economy (Laffer, 2016). For employers, minimum wage
creates competitive pressures and productivity, taxes and living standards for investors, suppliers and employers themselves (Laffer, 2016). Minimum
wage reduces job growth over several years and for every 10% increase there is a 1–2% reduction in low–skilled employment (Neumark, 2015).
However, it's not just employers and employees

As a result of the shortage of registered and enrolled nurses in our facility it is much prudent to source for skilled health workers migrants to fill the
gap. The migrants can lawfully work in Australia under an array of visas inclusive of the employer sponsored options also known as 457 visa. This
means the skilled migrants to be employed are entitled to the similar basic workplace protections and rights equal to the Australian workers (Khoo, et
al. 2007).

Being An International Student Essay
Being accepted into a U.S university is obviously more challenging for a foreign student like you planning to study in America than for a U.S citizen.
However, being a foreign (or "international") student does mean you have a different perspective that schools in the USA are valuable than the ones in
your country.
International students create a significant contribution to US campus life, as well as to college and university revenues. Consequently, USA colleges
and universities admit and welcome international students.
Which means that, although, you might want to overcome some obstacles as a way to study in America, international students can be seen as a
valuable commodity here. U.S government needs you and your money to develop the country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, this choice is not immediately open to foreign students /international students studying in the United States on the student visa.
Note: Working On Campus with a Student Visa: No Work Permit Needed for a Foreign Student /International Student
Many US universities provide work–study programs to foreign students / international students. These jobs usually entail manning at the school help
desk, working with the university library, or maybe even mowing the campus lawns.
Payments from these jobs are generally low, but every dollar can help when it's time to purchase another textbook or if you intent to buy more foods to
cook than eating microwave popcorn every night!
Foreign students / international students are limited to working 20 hours weekly, off or on–campus (although off–campus needs a special international
student work permit and is available once after the 1st academic year), so you shouldn't depend on work–study program to provide you with much
money throughout the school year.
During holidays and schools vacation, however, a foreign student / international student using the proper paperwork can work unlimited hours
on–campus, so you could probably earn a reasonable amount over the summer

The False Sense Of Identity In America
In America we have always believed there is only one real race, this race is American or commonly known as "white". However, America does not
possess a set race it does not even possess a set language. America began its cultural journey with the Native Americans. Later joined with the pilgrims
and puritans with them came the Americanization of the land. The thriving economy of 1900 century America brought in a large number of
immigrants. This, in turn, helped create America's diverse working class. The working class of America is diverse and vast in different cultures. As
the immigration into America increases every year there is no doubt that even after the years the statue of liberty will always be seen as the symbol for
the land of the brave and the free. Although, those who inhabit the land have forgotten the principles America was built in and often scrutinize those
who come searching for a better tomorrow. America the False Sense of Identity "One flag, One land, One heart, One hand, One nation Evermore"–
Oliver Wendel Holmes. America has for centuries been seen as the place where dreams can be achieved and freedom is for everyone. America has
always been seen as the place you come to find a new beginning and a better life. This is the American dream we often see in films and works of
literature. A large number of professionals have stipulated that the world was once a single continent named Pangea. The stipulation states that Pangea
later separated into the world

French Migration To Australia
Migration in a globalized society is no longer determine by the dichotomy of 'push' and 'pull' factors. Many people who're looking to migrate for a
multitude of reasons and likewise governments throughout the world are looking to bring in people who add to the labour market and for 'cultural
exchange' purposes. I interviewed my French neighbour Pierre. His decision to move Australia on a working holiday visa (417 visa) was a
combination of a desire to explore the world, find employment and that Australia was a willing participant for his migration. Pierre has discovered
cultural differences, namely an openly casually racist society and the realities of a labour based migration system. Pierre's migration experience has
similar characteristics... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pierre has straddled the positive and negative aspects of the visa program. He has been able to find work in his field relatively easily however he
has not be immune to the exploitation of foreign workers by employers seeking to minimize their wages by hiring 417 visa workers. A 7:30 Report
story by Matt Peacock investigated the systematic exploitation of Taiwanese backpackers at a meat works owned by small goods manufacturer
Primo. Setup at a distance by labour hire companies, 90% of the work force are on working holiday visas. They are pressured to use ABN's so the
company can hire them as independent contractors and not pay them the award wage, super contributions or meet the working conditions required
under the award. Therefore the workers are made to work unreasonable hours but have little power to refuse the work as many need the money to
continuing living abroad. Pierre faced similar yet not as draconian conditions at his first job as chef in Melbourne. Paid under $20 an hour, he was
made to work double the working week, of up to 80 hours a week, without breaks doing 12–hour shifts. Many workers on the 417 visas find it difficult
to refuse unfair conditions, as the length of their stay is dependent on finding

The Great Depression
In the year 1929, after a century of Americans being filled with a great sense of being alive and chasing after the American dream with new
opportunities in front of them, everything Americans had worked so hard to establish came crashing down. On one fateful day the stock market
crashed, leaving Americans all over the nation scared, penny less, and uncertain feelings about what the future would hold for them. The days leading
up to years following this crash became known as the Great Depression a time where Americans struggled to get by or even had to leave the only

Rooselvelt won the elecetion by an overwhelming victory, and over the next eight years, worked with the government to institute a series of projects
and programs, known collectively as the New Deal put in place to try and restore the economy and Americans faith in it.2 During Roosevelt's first 100
days in office he attempted to change a lot off the issues going on. The new president first declared a four–day bank holiday to stop people from
withdrawing their money from shaky banks and then passed him Emergency Banking Act, which reorganized banks and ones that were insolvent.6
The president also started doing something he called fireside chats where he encouraged people, and in his first attempted to persuade people to put
there trust and savings back into the banks, which they followed and within a month over half of all banks had been reopened. In this time the
president also ended prohibition, signed the Tennessee valley act to build dams, passed the Agricultural Adjustment Act to stop farmers from
overworking land and the National Industrial Recovery Act allowing people to request higher wages and better working conditions. After the
completion of his first hundred days Roosevelt then decided to bring in his second hundred days. In this time frame he created the Works Progress
Administration to provide jobs for unemployed people, the National Labor Relations Act or Wagner Act to create the National Labor Relations Board
that would supervise union elections and prevent unfair treatment of people in working class, and finally created the Social Security act granting the
older people in the united states care and projection. Although this may have not ended the great depression right off the bat it allowed for
improvement during this time and Americans to but faith back into the

Tourism In UK Tourism
To begin with this could be classed as a positivity as the tourism industry sector is still growing despite the different impact, however this could
also be seen as a negative according to the WTTC findings because it has meant that within the Brexit it includes that immigrants might have to go
back to their own countries. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like working in hotels, there is an opening
for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the
UK's economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers. According to express article for tourists who are
going on holiday they would need to keep on top of the "Brexit holiday rules, when travelling to Europe", this suggests that the guide book was made
to ensure they understand the rules, when entering a European country but ensuring rules are being kept. The studies from this article shows that there
is a main focus on passport changes, euros and exchange rates, visas and healthcare, when it comes to the passport the Foreign and Commonwealth
Office describes it as still giving the British people the "freedom" to travel but having this passport at all times. Moreover, when looking at the
travelling of the industry within the tourism industry, "staycation" has been something else which has become popular over the last year or so as a

The Difference between American and German Thinking
The way Germans and Americans think is totally opposite. Germans think deductively, and take a scientific approach. On the other hand Americans
tend to think inductively, they first form a goal and figure out the details later. These styles but head because Germans often think of the American
approach as unrealistic. The negative side to the German thinking is that while are German is planning an American may beat him to putting an item
on the market. The Americans might not be 100 percent error free but they got the product out first. Communication styles are also very different in the
two countries. Americans do not like to disagree with one another. They hardly ever tend to respond with firm answers and try to beat around the bush
and try to politely tell someone no. Germans like to debate with each other when they are facing a problem. If a German disagrees with you they will
be sure that it is made know.
A difference between Germany and America is freedom vs. security. Americans believe in having freedom even at the cost of sacrificing security.
Germans on the other hand like to have security. They like to be able to plan ahead for long periods of time. They find the fact that in the US a person
can be fired from their job for almost no reason at all very distressing. There is also a great difference in freedom of speech in the two countries. For
example in the US racist Nazi propaganda would be legal where in Germany it is completely illegal. The American view is I

Cultural Heritage Of The French Tourism
Tourism in France is an important activity, both for the French who choose to spend their holidays, and foreigners who come to stay. Thus, since 1990,
France became the first tourist destination in the world. The tourist attraction of France is due to the large number and wide variety of points of
interest, diversity of landscapes, the rich cultural and artistic heritage, the temperate climate and ease of access and transport infrastructure, but also the
important equipment in the country and varied reception facilities (hotels, amusement parks...). Thus, each department is a French tourist department
with several points of interest. France has a rich well known cultural heritage, favored by many sites listed as World Heritage of UNESCO. The French
tourism has many different facets and positive economic impacts and France makes every effort to maintain the liveliness of this important asset. The
history of tourism in France began around 1760 in the south of France in Hyeres, becoming a common winter resort renowned among UK thanks to its
relatively mild Mediterranean climate. In 1910 Alexandre Millerand, the French Minister of Public Works at the time, created the first tourism office,
with the desire to promote those places that must be contemplated and visited by many. The intellectual vision that covers his entourage will then
change since we will be more aware of our surroundings. We decide consciously to build tourism in these places. However, the trip is

may include any of the following: transfers, services of a rep, car hire, equipment hire and excursions. Tailor–made and Dynamic Holidays These
holidays are also known as 'unpackaged holidays'. Because of the aid of the internet, holidaymakers have the freedom to book their own

Essay On Employee Retention
RECRUITING AND RETAINING EMPLOYEES IN A SEASONAL ENVIRONMENT November 1, 2011 Many organizations do not have the
luxury of having a constant demand in their businesses. Some companies face a large increase in business for the holiday season, summer vacation, or
for a major event throughout the year. These predictable trends allow many businesses to hire additional employees to help with the demand. The
organizations are then forced to lay several employees off when the demand returns to a normal level. This paper focuses on where organizations with a
large increase in seasonal demand can recruit new employees and what programs they can create to help increase employee retention. Solutions include

Timing and the duration of the exchange also need to be similar to other companies that participate in the program. Employees need to be willing to
work the entire duration of the assignment. Interviews between the employees and the participating companies need to take place along with a tour and
preview of the facilities. Contractual agreements are drafted and signed by all parties involved. The agreements prevent companies from hiring
employees on a full–time basis and are designed to prevent litigation caused by the Employee Exchange Program. After the exchange, employee
evaluations are conducted at the partnering companies. Finally, interviews take place with employees to assess where improvements can be made in
the Employee Exchange Program. The evaluations and interviews provide an open form of communication between the managers of each company. It

Employee Compensation Package For Employees
Expatriate employees would include the C.E.O. The compensation packages will be done differently than what the local hires would be. The base
salary will include a minimum of 5 years of experience and offer a salary of 120,000 Rubles. Salaries may vary depending on the actual number of
years of experience. It will be maxed out at 350,000 Rubles. According to Coleman services article on expatriate compensation packages, "These
expenses include, but are not limited to, relocation and living allowance, country risk payments, complete medical and travel insurance for all family
members, corporate cars (often with personal drivers), total coverage of apartment costs etc. Add to these a foreigner status with all inherent visa
proceedings, and you'll get a very costly asset."1
Compensation packages for the local hires will not require such high benefits, however, there salary would be a little higher due to not including all the
benefits of living and relocation. According to pravada.ru the average Russian needs to make 20,000–30,000 a month to be able to live comfortably2. It

The Benefits and Problems of Migration in the UK
Should the UK Government control migration? Some believe that it is necessary to control migration in the UK, as they believe that too many
immigrants could lead to overpopulation, unemployment and housing shortages. It is commonly believed that migration should be controlled, as
migrants 'come over to our country and take our benefits'; however this is not necessarily factually correct. This essay aims to discuss the benefits and
problems of migration in the UK, and make a conclusion based on the evidence I have discussed, about whether migration should or should not be
controlled by the UK Government. The UK's post–war immigrants came mainly from Colonies in the Caribbean, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. An

There are worries that migrants are 'stealing UK jobs', as there is already an unemployment problem in the UK. Some people believe that we need
to focus on getting jobs for those who are already citizens of the UK, rather than bringing more people in from different countries and getting them
jobs. People also worry that public money has to be spent on meeting the everyday needs of the immigrants and their families, for example
housing, schools and healthcare. Many UK citizens are not in permanent housing as of yet due to the fact that there is a shortage of council owned
houses, therefore we should perhaps focus on permanently housing those who like in the UK before allowing migrants to live in council owned
houses. If the country goes into another recession, then the immigrants will add to the burden of unemployment. Many people worry that migrants
will come to the UK in order to receive benefits. This is a big worry for some people, as it is well needed government money from their taxes
giving the migrants benefits, which they believe could be put to better use. People also worry that the migrants avoid paying taxes as they have such
low paid jobs, which makes some people angry as they have to pay such high taxes on their wages. Some people worry that migration means that we
are losing the traditional British aspects of the UK, and that the UK is becoming too much of a

Spain Has A Free Market Economy
Spain has a free market economy like a great number of developed countries, however, its employment laws and regulations have caused its economy to
sputter and remain weak when compared to its European and American counterparts. Most Spanish companies will have written employment contracts,
even though not required, for its workers. Working hours withinSpain are closely monitored and must not exceed an annual average of 40 hours per
week, with 80 maximum hours of overtime per year. Holiday and leave time in Spain is considered very generous; maternity leave is a minimum of
16 weeks and there cannot be less than 30 calendar holidays per year. Minimum wage in Spain is just above the European average of 712 euro per

great deal of Spain's economic and employment issues can be traced back to its dictatorship which ended in 1975, the country is still feeling the
effects of the strict workforce regulations, such as a ban on unions, that were in place at the time. Expatriates are welcome to work in Spain but will

comprehensive anti–discriminatory regulations that apply to both Spanish and foreign nationals.

Analysis Of The Film Mardi Gras : Made China And The Novel...
Expectations versus Reality Women from diasporas in Third World countries, such as China and the Philippines, search for jobs in First World
countries and migrate in order to make enough money to send back home. However, these women are often exploited in the labor force, or taken
advantage of by their manager. For instance, emotional labor is work that regulates or suppresses other people's emotions and feelings. Nursing or
nanny work are common examples of emotional labor because these occupations demand more communication and interaction. People from Third
World nation–states often come from a Communist system, in which all property is publicly owned and everyone works and is paid accordingly, to a
Capitalist system, in which the country's trade and industry are privately owned and the labor force exploits workers. As seen in the film Mardi Gras:
Made in China and the novel Global Woman, Director David Redmon and authors Barbara Ehrenreich and Arlie Russell Hochschild portray the
exploitation of women in the workforce and in marriage from Third World countries, thus suggesting that imposing emotional labor on female workers
puts people in developing nation–states at a greater disadvantage and ultimately makes the poor worse off. In the film Mardi Gras: Made in China,
Director David Redmon documents and compares the contrasting viewpoints of young female workers in a bead factory in China to revelers in the
New Orleans' Carnival on the plastic beads that the Chinese

Nursing jobs in Australia used to be open to almost all foreigners, but due to the recent changes in Australian nursing registration criteria, the
opportunity has become out of reach for nurses in certain countries.
Nurses can't enter the Australian Nursing Register (AHPRA) if:
Their qualifications are below a bachelor degree level
Their qualifications were required from countries listed as unlikely to meet eligibility criteria
There are 56 unfortunate countries who made the list, including Switzerland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, France, China and Brazil.
Nurses with such qualifications would likely fail the skills assessment needed to apply for an Employer Sponsored Visa and/or a Skilled Migrant Visa.
They are advised to upgrade their nursing qualifications, or complete a nursing bridging program in Australia.
Visa requirements for a nursing job in Australia
Whether you are an expert in your field, or you need to acquire new skills while working, there is a Visa available for you. What's even better is that
you can be in or outside Australia when you lodge an application.

Modern Day Syrian Arab Republic
Modern day Syria officially called the Syrian Arab Republic is located in southwest Asia. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, Lebanon, Israel,
Jordan, Iraq, and Asia. This country is about the size of the state of Washington at 76,500 square miles. In 1995 the populations was estimated at 14.2
million. There are many different ethnic and religion groups in Syria. Muslim is the primary religion, but there are many Christians and Jews. When it
comes to ethnicity Arab is the majority with many Kurds, Armenians, Turkmen, and Assyrians. The primary language is Arabic, but many ethnic
groups have their own languages as well. Syrians have their own dialect from the formal language, which divides them from other Arab–speaking
people (Jones). Much of the immigration information on early Syrians to America such as the time periods and amount of people is difficult to
acquire. Syria was called Greater Syria before 1920, which was part of the Ottoman Empire. Some immigrants may have been considered Turks or
Lebanese at Ellis Island even though they came from Syria. It is more likely that Syrian and Arab immigration occurred after 1880. Also, many of the
immigrants that came to American during and after the Civil War returned to their originating country after earning money (Jones). There are many
reasons why people migrated from Syria to America. Many were seeking religious freedom, but the primary incentive was the American Dream. Most
of these immigrants worked

Immigration Essay
My thoughts on Immigration Submitted by: Dhara Shah The major reason people emigrate from their homelands is better future aspects such as better
financial stability, better working hours and better living standards. Despite all these opportunities, there are many issues that immigrants face while
trying to obtain the equality in their status–quo. Some of these issues are different visa levels, job insecurities, racial discrimination, language problems
and cultural barriers that each and every immigrant has to cope up with. Initially, all immigrants face cultural clashes and have difficulty in
communication since English is not their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, many immigrants land up doing menial tasks and highly underpaid jobs at gas stations, provision stores, motels, bakeries, cleaning beauty
salons or waiting upon tables in restaurants. You see huge crowds of people every morning at places like Home Depots where people come with only
one hope– work... They are ready to do any job for a meager amount of money. With the economic recession looming at large, they prefer to have
some income rather than go home with empty hands and starved stomachs. And for illegal immigrants, the situation is even worse. They cannot
legally sign a lease or rent an apartment, cannot have an access to bank accounts and are not eligible to get any kind of insurance. Even after getting
an underpaid job, there is no guarantee that they would be paid for their work done because if the employer does not pay them, what can they do??
They cannot report the employer to the police as without any documents, they have no basis to fight for their rights. They constantly live in the fear of
getting deported to their home country. Many a times, they do not approach a doctor for diagnosing their illness only because they are afraid that they
might not be treated because there are no official records in the US health department; not to mention that they cannot afford the exorbitant fees of the
doctors. These immigrants can never visit their home country

Causes Of Illegal Immigration From El Salvador
Illegal immigration is a big problem in America, and it is very hard to solve. These immigrants are coming into America for many different
reasons. The main immigrants into America are from Mexico, but many do come from El Salvador too. Some immigrants like economic migrants,
come to America because of job availability and more money. For example, in Mexico poverty and unemployment is a major problem, and by 2012
55.3 million out of 120 million were poor. The majority of the Mexican population are farmers, and they live in rural areas with very extreme
temperatures and the poor quality land makes it hard to actually farm. This culture causses struggle for these Mexican families. Due to these high
unemployment and poverty rates they migrate to America in order to support their family and further retain a reasonable standard of living. Another
reason Mexicans will come into America is because they are fleeing violence. In Mexico, there is very high crime rates, and homicide rates are around
10–14 per 100,000 people. With drugs, in the past 5 years, more than 47, 500 have been killed. Therefore, a reason some Mexicans will come to
America is because of the lower crime rates, and having a more reliable and stable home to live. Additionally, we see this reason of migration from
immigrants from El Salvador. In El Salvador, there are many crimes and violence gangs. It is the murder capital in the world, with nearly one homicide
per hour in the first three months of 2016. Its

Tax In Australia Essay
Over 570,000 backpackers travelled Australia in 2009 and many did so on Working Holiday Visas (WHVs) to help cover the costs. Tax is the last
thing backpackers think about when in Australia; that is until it comes time to leave or file their tax return...
Having arrived in Australia under a WHVs a number of years ago I have the first–hand experience of how difficult it is to understand a new tax
regime, especially one which is obscured by myths, hearsay and misleading information. For many backpackers, this is their first experience of tax and
may be their first job which just makes things worse!
This article may help you find out some of the myths and address some issues surrounding tax in Australia for WHVs holders.

The rate of tax that you pay depends on your individual situation, how much you have earned, other income you have received and deductions you may
(or may not!) be entitled too.
Typically, if an individual is travelling frequently, employed in casual roles and not classed as an Australian resident for tax purposes, they will pay
29% of all earnings. This is because the Australian Tax Office (ATO) assumes they have income in another country and place a flat rate on all earnings
to simplify the process.
Tax agents can get you 100% of your tax back
Tax is a complex matter and using a tax agent to help you can be a good call if you are unsure of some aspect of your return. However, any agent that
promises to get you all of the tax you paid returned to you should be treated with caution.
They may be trying to mislead you or they could be lying to the tax office on your behalf – either way, you will end up in a lot of trouble. You will
always be made to sign a document taking responsibility for the actions of the tax agent.
If you want to get an estimate of your tax liability or refund due, the ATO has free calculators that you can use.

My Ancestry Research Paper
Introduction
Due to my passion for travel and my ancestry I've based my Research Project around this topic. The project will focus particularly on furthering my
knowledge on my ancestry; significant countries in relation to my family, and how to plan a holiday. This topic is momentous to me as I'll be
accessing new information, enhancing my knowledge on the culture and understanding the lifestyle my grandparent's endured. Which by travelling and
meeting new people will hopefully gain me a deeper appreciation of life by viewing what other cultures live like and tie in my ancestry and the new
culture together. On this trip I'll be visiting Germany, Hungary, Croatia and Serbia. These countries are relevant to my ancestry by locating sources
which depicted my family up to my great, great; great grandparents lived in these countries. The cities/villages which will be a primary location for
this trip is Mitrovica (Croatia), Novi Sad (Serbia), Budapest (Hungary) and in Germany Berlin. To travel to and from countries I'll be using a hire car

The chief executive of British Airways announced in 2012 that the complicated process for Chinese nationals was deterring them from visiting
the UK and as a result, the British economy was suffering with 149,000 Chinese nationals visiting the UK in 2012 compared to the 1.1 million that
visited the Schengen area. The Chinese visa process was simplified in 3 ways. The first, Chinese travel agents can now send the UK application as
part of the Schengen visa application instead of two separate forms, to reduce duplication as many people travelling from china will not travel
solely to the UK. The next, a 24 hour superior priority service and finally a mobile visa service cutting the entire process time to less than 5 minutes.
This has already made a significant difference in the number of Chinese tourists arriving in the Uk with figures for the first half of 2015 up 4% on
the same period of the previous year. Although this example is based around a relatively specific group of people, it demonstrates how the visa
application process can heavily effect tourist habits to a destination. Another common entry requirement in certain parts of the world its of the world are

Effects Of Abolish Minimum Wage

  • 1. Effects Of Abolish Minimum Wage Abolish Minimum Wage According to the Minimum Wage Review 2015, conducted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), when the minimum wage was set at $14.75, 74,900 people were impacted. The same study showed that by increasing the minimum wage by only 5.1% to $15.25 an additional 77,800 people would be affected and it would cost the Government $22.82million dollars annually. According to the 2016Minimum Wage Review, again conducted by MBIE, after the minimum wage was set to $15.25, if they were to increase the minimum wage to $19.25 (still below the recommended living wage of $20.20) approximately 28,000 people would lose their jobs and there would be an increased cost of approximately $543.55million dollars annually. While we all know that a higher than minimum wage income would go a long way towards raisin economic standards of areas where minimum wage jobs are prevalent, a higher minimum wage could also have adverse effects as well (Laffer, 2016). For employees, minimum wage work translates into income, standard of living, education and taxes which make up our entire economy (Laffer, 2016). For employers, minimum wage creates competitive pressures and productivity, taxes and living standards for investors, suppliers and employers themselves (Laffer, 2016). Minimum wage reduces job growth over several years and for every 10% increase there is a 1–2% reduction in low–skilled employment (Neumark, 2015). However, it's not just employers and employees ... However, being a foreign (or "international") student does mean you have a different perspective that schools in the USA are valuable than the ones in your country. International students create a significant contribution to US campus life, as well as to college and university revenues. However, America does not possess a set race it does not even possess a set language. America began its cultural journey with the Native Americans. Later joined with the pilgrims and puritans with them came the Americanization of the land. The thriving economy of 1900 century America brought in a large number of immigrants. This, in turn, helped create America's diverse working class. The working class of America is diverse and vast in different cultures. As the immigration into America increases every year there is no doubt that even after the years the statue of liberty will always be seen as the symbol for the land of the brave and the free. This is showing as since there are mostly foreigners working in the sector like working in hotels, there is an opening for more vacancies, this could mean less people are able to effectively give good tourist services. Whilst focusing on how the sector has boosted the UK's economy in different ways, there are also somethings which could change for UK travellers. The negative side to the German thinking is that while are German is planning an American may beat him to putting an item on the market. Americans do not like to disagree with one another. They hardly ever tend to respond with firm answers and try to beat around the bush and try to politely tell someone no. Germans like to debate with each other when they are facing a problem. If a German disagrees with you they will be sure that it is made know. A difference between Germany and America is freedom vs. security. Americans believe in having freedom even at the cost of sacrificing security. Germans on the other hand like to have security. They like to be able to plan ahead for long periods of time. They find the fact that in the US a person can be fired from their job for almost no reason at all very distressing. There are worries that migrants are 'stealing UK jobs', as there is already an unemployment problem in the UK. Some people believe that we need to focus on getting jobs for those who are already citizens of the UK, rather than bringing more people in from different countries and getting them jobs. People also worry that public money has to be spent on meeting the everyday needs of the immigrants and their families, for example housing, schools and healthcare. Many UK citizens are not in permanent housing as of yet due to the fact that there is a shortage of council owned houses, therefore we should perhaps focus on permanently housing those who like in the UK before allowing migrants to live in council owned houses. If the country goes into another recession, then the immigrants will add to the burden of unemployment. Many people worry that migrants will come to the UK in order to receive benefits. This is a big worry for some people, as it is well needed government money from their taxes giving the migrants benefits, which they believe could be put to better use. People also worry that the migrants avoid paying taxes as they have such low paid jobs, which makes some people angry as they have to pay such high taxes on their wages. Some people worry that migration means that we are losing the traditional British aspects of the UK, and that the UK is becoming too much of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spain Has A Free Market Economy Spain has a free market economy like a great number of developed countries, however, its employment laws and regulations have caused its economy to sputter and remain weak when compared to its European and American counterparts. Most Spanish companies will have written employment contracts, even though not required, for its workers. Working hours withinSpain are closely monitored and must not exceed an annual average of 40 hours per week, with 80 maximum hours of overtime per year. Holiday and leave time in Spain is considered very generous; maternity leave is a minimum of 16 weeks and there cannot be less than 30 calendar holidays per year. Minimum wage in Spain is just above the European average of 712 euro per month. However, Spain has struggled with unemployment over the past several decades and has hovered around 20–25 percent over the last 5 years. A great deal of Spain's economic and employment issues can be traced back to its dictatorship which ended in 1975, the country is still feeling the effects of the strict workforce regulations, such as a ban on unions, that were in place at the time. Expatriates are welcome to work in Spain but will face difficult work permit procedures and fierce competition from Spaniards who are out of work. A positive aspect of employment law in Spain is the comprehensive anti–discriminatory regulations that apply to both Spanish and foreign nationals. • 22. Analysis Of The Film Mardi Gras : Made China And The Novel... Expectations versus Reality Women from diasporas in Third World countries, such as China and the Philippines, search for jobs in First World countries and migrate in order to make enough money to send back home. However, these women are often exploited in the labor force, or taken advantage of by their manager. For instance, emotional labor is work that regulates or suppresses other people's emotions and feelings. Nursing or nanny work are common examples of emotional labor because these occupations demand more communication and interaction. People from Third World nation–states often come from a Communist system, in which all property is publicly owned and everyone works and is paid accordingly, to a Capitalist system, in which the country's trade and industry are privately owned and the labor force exploits workers. As seen in the film Mardi Gras: Made in China and the novel Global Woman, Director David Redmon and authors Barbara Ehrenreich and Arlie Russell Hochschild portray the exploitation of women in the workforce and in marriage from Third World countries, thus suggesting that imposing emotional labor on female workers puts people in developing nation–states at a greater disadvantage and ultimately makes the poor worse off. In the film Mardi Gras: Made in China, Director David Redmon documents and compares the contrasting viewpoints of young female workers in a bead factory in China to revelers in the New Orleans' Carnival on the plastic beads that the Chinese ... Immigration Essay My thoughts on Immigration Submitted by: Dhara Shah The major reason people emigrate from their homelands is better future aspects such as better financial stability, better working hours and better living standards. Despite all these opportunities, there are many issues that immigrants face while trying to obtain the equality in their status–quo. Some of these issues are different visa levels, job insecurities, racial discrimination, language problems and cultural barriers that each and every immigrant has to cope up with. Hence, many immigrants land up doing menial tasks and highly underpaid jobs at gas stations, provision stores, motels, bakeries, cleaning beauty salons or waiting upon tables in restaurants. With the economic recession looming at large, they prefer to have some income rather than go home with empty hands and starved stomachs. And for illegal immigrants, the situation is even worse. They cannot legally sign a lease or rent an apartment, cannot have an access to bank accounts and are not eligible to get any kind of insurance. Even after getting an underpaid job, there is no guarantee that they would be paid for their work done because if the employer does not pay them, what can they do?? They cannot report the employer to the police as without any documents, they have no basis to fight for their rights. They constantly live in the fear of getting deported to their home country. • 29. Causes Of Illegal Immigration From El Salvador Illegal immigration is a big problem in America, and it is very hard to solve. These immigrants are coming into America for many different reasons. The main immigrants into America are from Mexico, but many do come from El Salvador too. Some immigrants like economic migrants, come to America because of job availability and more money. For example, in Mexico poverty and unemployment is a major problem, and by 2012 55.3 million out of 120 million were poor. The majority of the Mexican population are farmers, and they live in rural areas with very extreme temperatures and the poor quality land makes it hard to actually farm. This culture causses struggle for these Mexican families. Due to these high unemployment and poverty rates they migrate to America in order to support their family and further retain a reasonable standard of living. Another reason Mexicans will come into America is because they are fleeing violence. In Mexico, there is very high crime rates, and homicide rates are around 10–14 per 100,000 people. With drugs, in the past 5 years, more than 47, 500 have been killed. Therefore, a reason some Mexicans will come to America is because of the lower crime rates, and having a more reliable and stable home to live. Additionally, we see this reason of migration from immigrants from El Salvador. In El Salvador, there are many crimes and violence gangs. It is the murder capital in the world, with nearly one homicide per hour in the first three months of 2016. Its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
