Educational technology is a tool that can be used effectively by teachers to teach reading skills, but only if teachers learn how to properly use the technological resources. When first trying to teach a lesson using computers, teachers should start with one topic they are already familiar with. Computers can assess student work, present information, provide feedback, and scaffold learning, but cannot replace teachers. While technology may increase student engagement, it is worth teachers experimenting with new technological resources.
