2. SPORTS DAY
Sport has the power to change the world; it is a fundamental right, a
powerful tool to strengthen social ties and promote sustainable development and
peace and well as solidarity, and respect. The National Sports Day in India is
celebrated on 29 August, on the birth anniversary of hockey player Major
Dhyan Chand. This day marks the birthday of Major Dyan Chand Singh, the
hockey player who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the years 1928,
1932 and 1936.The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace
(IDSDP) is an annual celebration of the power of sport to drive social change,
community development and to foster peace and understanding. The
International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April presents an
opportunity to recognize the role that sport and physical activity plays in
communities and in people’s lives across the world.
People all around the world celebrates the sports day by indulging various
activities in favorable time period. It is in response to the corona virus
pandemic, encouraging people to reducing anxieties and improving physical and
mental health. It can be done through sports like Race, Javelin Throw, Discus
Throw, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Hurdles, Hammer Throw and Relay Race.
During the Covid situation as a part of international sports day, we,
Mathematics department of C.S.I COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, PARASSALA
is planning to conduct a one-day programme of sports meet ‘CHASE YOUR
DREAMS’ on 21st
October 2021. In this programme we are planning to invite
Olympian K. T. Irfan to inaugurate the programme. We are planning to conduct
the competitions after the inaugural function of sports meet, in the order of
Race, Javelin Throw, Discus Throw, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Hurdles,
Hammer Throw, Relay race. We are planning to give the prizes to the
winners at the closing ceremony by Olympian K. T. Irfan.

3. RACE COMPETITION
We are planning to conduct a Race competition (400 m, 800 m, 1500 m)
on 21st
October 2021. The time schedule of the competition is most probably
from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. We have selected student coordinators from our
own department. The coordinators are Reshma.C.Johnson and Nitheesha (1st
year Mathematics). We are providing opportunity to all the students of the
college, irrespective of departments, to be a part of the competition. We are
planning to conduct the competition for girls and boys separately. The
competition will be held on the ground of Samuel L.M.S High School,
Parassala. The aim of this competition will be effective for the students to show
their talents in a better platform. This will help the students to engage in
physical activities. The best Racer will be announced by the Chief Guest on the
inaugural day. Welcome speech and Vote of thanks will be given by the
coordinators. After then the chief guest distribute the first prize for the winner.
We expect on active participation from all departments.
JAVELIN THROW COMPETITION
We are planning to conduct a Javelin throw competition on 21st
October
2021.The time schedule of the competition is most probably from 8.30 a. m to
11.a. m. We have selected student coordinators from our own department. The
coordinators are Reshma. S. R and Jihitha (first year Mathematics). We are
providing opportunity to all the students of the college, irrespective of
departments, to be a part of the competition. We are planning to conduct the
competition for girls and boys separately. The competition will be held on the
ground of Samuel L.M.S High school, Parassala. The aim of this competition
will be effective for the students to show their talents in a better platform. This
will help the students to engage in physical activities. The best Javelin throw
will be announced by the chief guest on the inaugural day. Welcome speech and
vote of thanks will be given by the coordinators. After then the chief guest

providing opportunity to all the students of the college, irrespective of
departments, to be a part of the competition. We are planning to conduct the
competition for girls and boys separately. The competition will be held on the
ground of Samuel L.M.S High school, Parassala. The aim of this competition
will be effective for the students to show their talents in a better platform. This
will help the students to engage in physical activities. The best disc throw will
be announced by the chief guest on the inaugural day. Welcome speech and

LONG JUMP COMPETITION
We are planning to conduct Long Jump Competition on 21st

2021. The time schedule of the competition is 30 minutes, most probably from
10.30 am to 12:00 pm. We have selected the Coordinators from Mathematics
department itself. The Coordinators are Suji S S and Aparna (1st
year). We are
providing opportunity to all the students of the college, irrespective of
departments, to be a part of the competition. The competition will be held on the
ground of Samuel L.M.S High school, Parassala. The aim of this competition
will be effective for the students to show their talents in a better platform. This
will help the students to engage in physical activities. The best Long Jump will

department itself. The Coordinators are Ajeesha K S and Karuna (1st
year). We
are providing opportunity to all the students of the college, irrespective of
departments, to be a part of the competition. The competition will be held on

10. INAUGURATION PLAN
The Sports day for the academic year 2020-2021 at CSI College of
education Parassala is decided to conduct on 21st October 2021. We organizing
an inaugural ceremony on behalf of the day. The programs charted under the
supervision of our department head smt. Sheeja Ma’am and our beloved
principal of our college Dr. Sajith. C. Raj. Sir. The inaugural ceremony and
competitions related to sports day is charted as a one day program.The
inaugural ceremony is expected to start at 8 am and the competitions is expected
to start at 8:30 am. There are arranged a variety of competitions such as
race(400m, 800m, 1500m), javelin throw, disc throw, long jump, triple jump,
hurdles(110m, 400m) , hammer throw, relay(100m, 200m, 300m) for the
students. We expect a great participation from the sides of students and expect a
great support from teaching and non teaching staffs for make the day enjoyful.
The programmes is decided to finish with closing ceremony.
