This document describes a Smart Board activity to help students practice spelling words for weekly quizzes. The activity would start simply but get progressively harder each week as the quizzes become more difficult. Students would take turns coming to the front of the class to reveal spelling words hidden under virtual cookies on the Smart Board. The class would then spell each word out loud and provide the definition. This activity allows students to visualize words in an engaging way using cookies, and gives them an interactive experience by coming to the front rather than just sitting passively.
Below is a presentation that my co-workers and I have used to showcase our Technology offerings in our district. We have used this on our TIS website, with parents, and also as a PR tool for various community showcases. This shows many of the technology opportunities available to our students.
