TASK 2B
TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS IN EDITING AND
THE PURPOSE OF EDITING.
FLASHBACKS
In this scene the character Andre is
sitting in a room with his family.
Time is manipulated as He begins as
the camera zooms in to his face and
then builds into a flashback.
We know it is a flashback as the color
of the scene has been changed to a
sepia color which connotes a past
event or something old and the
camera moves slowly to reveal what
is being thought. Step by step. We
also see it is a flashback as during the
first scene we hear music fading into
the second scene and gets louder
when reaching this scene.
SPACE
This is an establishing shot of the
scene. This has been placed there to
introduce all the characters in the scene
to the audience so they are aware of
who is there and their relevance. This
also to give the audience an idea of the
type of lifestyle the characters live
whilst making them aware of the
atmosphere . This shot is then
followed by a close up of the subject
of the scene. We are given less area to
focus on but we gather the atmosphere
at this very moment.
RHYTHM
In this part of the clip, these shots are
all consecutive shots that move with the
rhythm of the music in the background.
This technique has been used to keep
the transitions between the shots
smooth.
The cutting rates of these shots are very
fats at least 2 seconds as the song is
quite upbeat. This connotes a good time
and good vibes between all the
characters in the room.
