4. WHAT IS EDITABLE GRID??

 Editable grid is useful for users because a list or view of records having editing

5. TYPES OF GRIDS :
 Read-only grid
 Home grid
 Sub grid
 Nested grid – This is new grid introduced in D365. Nested grids are shown if the user
expand any record in view itself without opening form. This grid also shows related
records of expanded record from view.
 Note: Nested grid is available only on Mobile and Tablets. It is not available on web
client/CRM for Outlook.

Under types of fields have inline editable grid capabilities:
a)Single line of text
b)Date and Time
c)Option Set
d)Whole Number
e)Decimal
f)Floating Point Number
g)Two Options
h)Lookup
JavaScript events are also available on editable grid:
a) On record select-The On record select event happen when a single row (record) is
selected in the editable grid. This event won't happen if a user selects distinct cells in
the same row, or selects multiple rows.

7. b) On save - The On Save event happen earlier sending the updated information to the
server, and when any of the following happens:
1. There is a alteration in the record selection.
2. The user certainly triggers a save operation using the editable grid’s save button.
c) On Change -The On Change event happens when a value is changed in a cell in the
editable grid and the cell be deprived of focus.

8. As its name advice, only inline editing is possible and users cannot make records through
inline editable grids. Users can still use quick create form to quickly make the records.
Under grid functionality is available for editable grids:
A) Sorting
B) Searching
C) Grouping
D) Filtering
E) Column Movement by Simply Drag and Drop Capabilities.

 To allow editable grid on entity’s public views, you should add new control in entity.

properties to filter lookup values in editable grid. Save the changes and publish the
customization.

 To allow editable grid for sub-grids, you need to add new control on entity form.
 You can allow editable grid for sub-grid by following below steps:
a) Open form editor of entity’s form on which users want to allow editable sub grid.
