Edgar 'E.W.' Ford, Jr. received his diploma from the University of Richmond School of Professional & Continuing Studies 35 years after graduating. Unable to attend his 1979 commencement, his mailed diploma never arrived. In 2013, at age 91, Ford was invited to participate in commencement as an alumnus. Prior to the ceremony, the university president and dean surprised Ford by presenting him with a replacement diploma at a recognition breakfast. Ford then walked in his first University of Richmond commencement.

The document discusses responsive web design (RWD), which aims to provide an optimal viewing experience across different devices. It notes that RWD is important because of the variety of devices visitors use, their expectations of easy access across devices, and to improve the visitor experience. The document addresses common questions about RWD, explaining why it isn't just a fad but rather is being adopted by industry leaders. It also discusses why RWD may be preferable to developing separate mobile apps. In the end, it argues that given changing visitor behaviors and technologies, it may be time for businesses to invest in RWD.
Subsidized housing in Richmond has historically been concentrated in certain neighborhoods due to past practices of redlining. One such neighborhood was Fulton, which was a thriving community in the 1890s but by the late 1960s had fallen into disrepair and faced demolition, displacing over 3,000 residents and destroying the local history and community that had been built.

This document analyzes school segregation trends in the Richmond, Virginia metro area from 1987-2010. It finds that while the region's student enrollment has become more racially diverse over time, high proportions of Black students continue to attend highly segregated and high-poverty schools. School segregation has been increasing within districts, and remains high between districts. Segregation overlaps with concentrated poverty, with most students in intensely segregated minority schools qualifying for free/reduced lunch.
Presentation by William Trent given during the March 2013 Looking Back, Moving Forward conference in Richmond, Virginia, hosted by University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University.
This document summarizes population and enrollment trends in Kalamazoo Public Schools from 1970-2010 and compares them to other similar school districts. It also provides an overview of the Kalamazoo Promise program, which was announced in 2005 and provides free college tuition for KPS graduates. While the demographic makeup of KPS students remained relatively unchanged after the Promise, the program has correlated with increasing enrollment, improved achievement and graduation rates, higher rates of college attendance and completion, and more positive media coverage for the school district.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

1. Edgar ‘E.W.’ Ford, Jr. C’78, receives his diploma at
age 91
Unable to attend his own Commencement, his
mailed diploma never arrived.
At a ceremony preceding the 2013 School of
Professional & Continuing Studies Commencement
Exercises, Ford finally received his long-delayed
diploma.
2. To celebrate the School’s fiftieth Anniversary, alumni were asked to don regalia and walk
in with students at Commencement.Among those alumni was Ford.
3. 35 years ago, Ford was unable to attend his 1979 graduation ceremony. And for all these
years, Ford and his diploma remained estranged.
4. When he received his invitation to participate as an alumnus, Ford contactedTeresa
Glassman in SPCS. He was ecstatic to receive the invitation, but something was missing.
5. On May 11, 2013, immediately prior to Commencement, Dean Narduzzi invited alumni
participants to join President Ayers and him for breakfast, then walk to the Robins Center.
6. Edgar and his wife, Geraldine, attended the breakfast. Narduzzi and Ayers had worked
with the University Registrar on a surprise for Edgar, to be presented at the breakfast.
7. With his fellow alumni looking on, President Ayers and Dean Narduzzi presented Ford
with a new diploma for his degree, the Associate in Applied Studies.
8. With the grip of a man decades younger, the 91-year-old Ford grasped the hand of
President Ayers in heartfelt appreciation for the gesture.
9. And following the recognition breakfast and ceremony, Ford walked in his first University
of Richmond Commencement ceremony, 35 years after his graduation date.
10. With the entire Robins Center crowd in attendance, Narduzzi recognized Ford among
the alumni participants, culminating the School’s yearlong anniversary celebration.
