Introduce self and the new technical center. BayLake Technical Center. Explain hypothetical tech center name. Hint…BayLake Tech Center is located near a lake.
Explain the mission and vision of the tech center. One hopes to go into detail about the origins of these two statements. Allow the audience to really connect on the ideology of education.
Highlight he accreditation that this tech center has. Assure students and parents that the amount of time that will be spent within the center will be time well spent on quality education. The curriculum has been reviewed and proven to be up to par for accreditation.
This slide should highlight why students should be interested in attending this center. What makes BayLake special? Give detail about each key point of why students should choose to study at BayLake. Add emphasis on full and part time programs and convenience of “close to home” programs. Make jokes about ‘Friendly Staff”
Highlight the major benefits of career and technical education within the community. Explain to the audience how career and technical education not only benefits the student, but the community in all. Emphasize a team work within the community and center. All working for the better good of the student…also known as the community member.
This slide should build upon the importance of CTE programs. The audience will have the time to examine what students can gain while enrolled at BayLake Tech Center. One hopes this will spark curiosity in CTSO and articulation agreements with local colleges.
Explain to the audience the current career clusters within the technical center. Go into detail how one hopes to expand on these clusters by adding emergency services, criminal justice, etc., al based on community partnership and support.
Discuss BayLake’s most popular programs… A.K.A BayLake’s most wanted among students. Provide audience with program statistics (graduation rates, wages, success stories, etc.)
Highlight the five easy steps to become a BayLake Tech student. Stress to students and parents that classes do fill up fast. Highly recommend early registration! Step 1: Advise student to complete the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Step 2: Speak with an Academic Advisor for course selection based on TABE results. Step 3. Register for courses.Step 4: Fill out the FAFSA, financial aid application. Step 5: Attain books!
