Ecstasy (MDMA) use can cause serious life-threatening complications like hyperthermia, hyponatremia, and liver failure. It is also associated with increased risks of psychotic episodes, depression, panic disorders, impulsive behavior, dental erosion, and mucosal changes. Recent ecstasy use may interfere with dental treatment. Ecstasy induces euphoria and feelings of closeness but also has systemic effects like tachycardia, increased body temperature, nausea, insomnia, and difficulty coordinating movements. Several days after use, lack of energy, panic, depression, and difficulty concentrating may occur.
