Federal spending on highways (or, synonymously, roads) totaled $46 billion in 2014, roughly a quarter of total public spending on highways. But that spending does not correspond very well with how the roads are used and valued.
This presentation illustrates how spending on highways is related to their use and performance, and it examines three approaches that the Congress could consider to make highway spending more productive.

It finds that the incidence of poverty has declined significantly, from 36.3% in 2000 to 12% in 2012 based on the Supplemental Poverty Index methodology. Rural poverty has seen a larger decline than urban poverty. While the SPI and Multidimensional Poverty Index methodologies show similar trends, they sometimes produce different poverty rates for certain districts. Overall, the evaluation finds poverty declining nationwide but recommends a continued policy focus on rural development and emerging urban poverty issues.
Corruption Perception of Bhutanese Youth: A case study of RTC students in 201...
This study aimed to understand Bhutanese youth's perception of corruption in 2012. It surveyed students at the Royal Thimphu College to understand the types of corruption perceived to negatively impact Bhutan and factors affecting corruption perception in the health sector. The literature review found the main types of corruption to be nepotism, favoritism, misuse of public funds and natural resources. However, the results of an ordinary linear regression analysis found that demographic variables like age, gender, residence, course and experience did not significantly impact corruption perception levels. This suggests Bhutanese perceive relatively low corruption. The study recommends further research on corruption within high-level health sector officials and efforts to reduce misuse of public funds.
