Fear is common to all. We all fear something. Some fear is God given. Children come into this world with a fear of heights and of loud noises. Some fears are there to protect us from physical harm: snakes, darkness, suffocation, being burned, death, etc. In christians, most fear is a tool of satan
John 3:16 is the most quoted and most remembered scripture from the bible.
Did you know that there are a number of other 3:16 verses that relate to and are very important to our spiritual lives and our living for Jesus?
Tonight we are going to look at some of those 3:16 scriptures.

Tonight we are going to look at some of those 3:16 scriptures.
The wisdom books address various aspects of life:
Psalms - how to worship.
Proverbs - how to be wise.
Song of Solomon - how to love
and
Ecclesiastes - how to be happy
A joy that carries us through and beyond life 'under the sun'
Seven times in Ecclesiastes the Preacher calls his reader to pursue joy (Ecclesiastes 2:24–25; 3:12–13, 22; 5:18–20; 7:14; 8:15; 9:7–10; 11:7–12:1).
The book starts out saying life s meaningless... and the word for meaningless is that same as vapor or vanity and the same word as the name of Able in Cain and ABle. Able's life was transitory and his death felt meaningless and senseless in many ways - a reminder life feels meaningless at times.

BIBLICAL SYNTHESIS
After reading the assigned Bible passages, synthesize these passages into a response to the following question: “What is the responsibility of Christians with regards to economic development, leadership within the community, and the mandates of the Gospel?”
MUST BE 600 WORDS
Biblical integration must be included in a thoughtful manner as articulated in the required
reading and presentations.
2. Citations from the required reading and presentation must be included in answering the
assigned questions.James 1:26-27New International Version
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Proverbs 29:7New International Version
7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,
but the wicked have no such concern.
Malachi 3:6-12New International VersionBreaking Covenant by Withholding Tithes
6 “I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed. 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.
“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’
8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.
“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
Matthew 6New International VersionGiving to the Needy
6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.Prayer
5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Fa ...
What is our moral compass? Everyone has some theological moral compass. As a Christian, our moral compass should be the word of God. Many in the world use television, social media, the teachings of men, parents, or their college professor as their guideline for formulating their moral compass. How do Christians point the way to Christ and His word as a compass of right and wrong?

We can't truly appreciate God's provision of grace until we understand the need for grace
Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.

The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Ecclesiastes
1.
2. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and
understanding.
- Proverbs 2:6 NASB
ECCLESIASTES
Slide 2 of 27
3. 19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He
established the heavens. 20 By His knowledge the deeps were broken
up and the skies drip with dew.
- Proverbs 3:19-20 NASB
ECCLESIASTES
Slide 3 of 27
4. 5 Also, the sun rises and the sun sets;
And hastening to its place it rises there again.
9 That which has been is that which will be,
And that which has been done is that which will be done.
So there is nothing new under the sun.
- Ecclesiastes 1:5,9 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 1 - The Cycle of Life
Slide 4 of 27
5. 4 I enlarged my works:I built houses for myself, I planted vineyards for
myself; 5 I made gardens and parks for myself and I planted in them all
kinds of fruit trees; 6 I made ponds of water for myself from which to
irrigate a forest of growing trees. 7 I bought male and female slaves
and I had homeborn slaves. Also I possessed flocks and herds larger
than all who preceded me in Jerusalem.
- Ecclesiastes 2:4-7 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 2 - The Futility of Pleasure and Possessions
Slide 5 of 27
8. 24 There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell
himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen that it is from the
hand of God. 25 For who can eat and who can have enjoyment without
Him?
- Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 2 - The Futility of Pleasure and Possessions
Slide 8 of 27
9. A time to be silent and a time to speak.
- Ecclesiastes 3:7 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 3 - A Time for Everything
Slide 9 of 27
10. I have seen that nothing is better than that man should be happy in his
activities, for that is his lot. For who will bring him to see what will occur
after him?
- Ecclesiastes 3:22 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 3 - A Time for Everything
Slide 10 of 27
11. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each
day has enough trouble of its own.
- Matthew 6:34 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 3 - A Time for Everything
Slide 11 of 27
12. 8 There was a certain man without a dependent, having neither a son
nor a brother, yet there was no end to all his labor. Indeed, his eyes
were not satisfied with riches and he never asked, "And for whom am I
laboring and depriving myself of pleasure?" This too is vanity and it is a
grievous task. 9 Two are better than one because they have a good
return for their labor. 10 For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his
companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to
lift him up. 11 Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm,
but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one can overpower him
who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly
torn apart.
- Ecclesiastes 4:8-12 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 4 - Strength in Numbers
Slide 12 of 27
13. 10 He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who
loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity. 11 When good
things increase, those who consume them increase. So what is the
advantage to their owners except to look on? 12 The sleep of the
working man is pleasant, whether he eats little or much; but the full
stomach of the rich man does not allow him to sleep.
- Ecclesiastes 5:10-12 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 5 - The Folly of Riches
Slide 13 of 27
14. 11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in
whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble
means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every
circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going
hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all
things through Him who strengthens me.
- Philippians 4:11-13 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 5 - The Folly of Riches
Slide 14 of 27
15. What the eyes see is better than what the soul desires. This too is
futility and a striving after wind.
- Ecclesiastes 6:9 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 6 - The Futility of Life
Slide 15 of 27
16. It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of
feasting, because that is the end of every man, and the living takes it to
heart.
- Ecclesiastes 7:2 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 7 - Wisdom and Folly Contrasted
Slide 16 of 27
17. 21 Also, do not take seriously all words which are spoken, so that you
will not hear your servant cursing you. 22 For you also have realized
that you likewise have many times cursed others.
- Ecclesiastes 7:21-22 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 7 - Wisdom and Folly Contrasted
Slide 17 of 27
18. So I commended pleasure, for there is nothing good for a man under
the sun except to eat and to drink and to be merry, and this will stand
by him in his toils throughout the days of his life which God has given
him under the sun.
- Ecclesiastes 8:15 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 8 - Enjoy Life
Slide 18 of 27
19. For I have taken all this to my heart and explain it that righteous men,
wise men, and their deeds are in the hand of God. Man does not know
whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits him.
- Ecclesiastes 9:1 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 9 - Men Are in the Hand of God
Slide 19 of 27
20. The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
- Proverbs 16:9 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 9 - Men Are in the Hand of God
Slide 20 of 27
21. If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert
more strength. Wisdom has the advantage of giving success.
- Ecclesiastes 10:10 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 10 - Tidbits of Wisdom
Slide 21 of 27
22. 1 Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after
many days. 2 Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do
not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.
- Ecclesiastes 11:1-2 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 11 - Living Live Wisely
Slide 22 of 27
23. Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for
you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or
whether both of them alike will be good.
- Ecclesiastes 11:6 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 11 - Living Live Wisely
Slide 23 of 27
24. Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be
pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses
of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring
you to judgment for all these things.
- Ecclesiastes 11:9 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 11 - Living Live Wisely
Slide 24 of 27
25. Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil
days come and the years draw near when you will say, "I have no
delight in them."
- Ecclesiastes 12:1 NASB
ECCLESIASTES: Chapter 12 - Remember God in Your Youth
Slide 25 of 27
26. 13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His
commandments, because this applies to every person. 14 For God will
bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is
good or evil.
