This document summarizes a paper presentation on views of knowledge and implications for studying learning in organizational networks. It outlines different perspectives on knowledge, including whether it is objective or subjective. It also describes structuralist and connectionist views of networks and whether research favors performance variation or social homogeneity. These views are combined into a quadrant to frame how knowledge and networks can be studied from different perspectives. The presentation was intended for the EAPRII 2009 conference in Trier, Germany.
