E1 students at the 2nd Experimental Primary School of Rhodes have researched major environmental problems such as water pollution, plastic pollution, forest fires, and the greenhouse effect. They explored causes, effects, and solutions, presenting their findings through presentations and leaflets. The project also emphasized adopting everyday habits and the 3Rs approach (reuse-reduce-recycle) to address these environmental issues.

3. Environmental Problems
In this section students choose and write about a major environmental problem our
planet faces.
The main purpose of their research is to provide answers to the following
questions:
• What is the problem?
• What causes the problem?
• What is the effect on the environment?
• What are some possible solutions to the problem?
• What can we do to inform people about the problem?
They are then asked to present their findings in the form of a presentation or an
information leaflet designed for future classroom/school use.

In this part of the project, students brainstorm ideas regarding everyday solutions to
the environmental problems discussed above.
• The 3Rs approach
They learn about the 3Rs approach (reuse-reduce-recycle) and find different kinds of
resources (videos/photos/songs etc). The results of students’ choices are presented
using an online tool.
• Everyday life habits to adopt
Putting theory into practice, students think and describe everyday things they can do
to help save our planet.
