WHAT IS AN E-WASTE ?
 Electronic waste or e -waste is any broken or unwanted electrical or
electronic appliance.
 E - waste includes computers, consumer electronics, phones, medical
equipments, toys and other items that have been discarded by their
original users.
 E-Waste also include waste which is generated during manufacturing or
assembling of such equipments.
SOURCES OF E-WASTE
• IT and Telecom Equipments (computers,mobiles,scanner,etc..).
• Household Appliances (washing machine,dishwasher).
• Medical Devices (except of all implanted & infected products).
• Lighting Equipment (fluorescent lamps).
• Electric & Electronic Tools(saws,handled drills).
• Monitoring & Control Instruments.
REDUCE
REUSE
RECYCLE
RECOVERY
DISPOSAL
Minimise the amount of waste produced
Use items as many times as possible
Recycle what you can after you have reused it
Recover energy from waste, usually by burning as fuel
Dispose of what is left in a responsible manner
EFFECTS OF E-WASTE
 E-waste is a horrible effects for Human beings and Environment .
 Toxic chemicals from E-waste enter the “soil-crop-food pathway”.
 These are non-biodegradable and cause soil pollution.
 E-waste dumping yards and nearby places are polluted and cause
health hazards.
IMPORTANT METHOD OF E-WASTE RECYCLING
• DISMANTLING: It is the systematic removal of components , parts or a group
of parts from a product in E-waste.
• UPGRATING: It includes comminuting and separation of materials using
mechanical/physical processing . Methods to recover materials include refining.
• MATERIALS RECOVERY: The materials are recovered by facilities .The
plastic, glass, metals can be recovered by sorting them before mixing them with
other waste.
ADVANTAGESOF E-WASTE
 Asset Recovery.
 Reduction of need for landfills.
 Reduction of junk and clutters
 Resale and reuse.
 Creation of jobs.

DEVICES: MOUSE
COMPUTERMOUSE
• A computer mouse is a handheld hardware input device that
controls a cursor, in a GUI (graphical user interface) and can move and
select text, icons, files, and folders on your computer.
• For desktop computers, the mouse is placed on a flat surface
(e.g., mouse pad or desk) in front of your computer. The picture is an
example of a desktop computer mouse with two buttons and a wheel.
 Cordless (Wireless)
 Foot mouse
 IntelliMouse (Wheel mouse)
 J-Mouse
 Joystick
 Optical
 Touchpad (Glide point)
 Trackball
 Track Point
 Wireless mouse
TYPESOF COMPUTERMICE
A cordless mouse, also called a wireless mouse, is
a mouse that connects to a computer without the use of
wires. Instead, the mouse uses some manner of wireless
technology, like Bluetooth, RF, or infrared radio waves.
Usually, a USB receiver is plugged into the computer and
receives signals from the cordless mouse.
WIRELESS MOUSE
• Buttons:
Almost , all computer mouse have at least two buttons, a left
buttons and right button for clicking and manipulating objects
and text. In the past, there have been mouse with only one
button. For example, many of the early Apple computer mice
only had one button.
• Mouse wheel:
Today's desktop computer mice also usually include a
mouse wheel that allows you to scroll up and down on a page.
PARTS OF COMPUTER MOUSE
1. Move the mouse cursor - The primary function is to move
the mouse pointer on the screen.
2. Select - A mouse also allows you to select text or a file
or highlight and select multiple files at once.
3. Drag-and-drop - Once something is selected, it can also be
moved using the drag-and-drop method.
4. Scroll - When working with a long document, or viewing a
long web page, you may need to scroll up or down. To scroll,
use the mouse wheel, or click and drag the scroll bar.
WHAT ARE THE USES OF THE MOUSE
• It is possible to select options faster.
• Multiple icons, files or folders can be selected at once.
• It takes very little space.
• It is very easy to use.
• It is very low cost.
• It is readily available.
• It is of very small size
ADVANTAGES OF MOUSE
EXAMPLE CRAFT:
MOBILE SECURITYALARM
1.We need to open the mouse…
2.Optical sensor and led has situated in the inside of the mouse..
3.now I am using to solder a buzzer with led’s terminal..
4.Now I am connecting the buzzer…
5.I will using a mobile charger (5volt,0.5 amp)to power this mouse..
6.Here I am using the lad as light source but you can use laser pointer..
7.Now it works when we blocked the path of light ,the sensor detects it..
PRESENATATION:MOUSE CAR
STEPS:
1.Make four pieces of cardboard each having two-centimeter width & one-centimeter
height.
2.Stick the cardboards on the backside of the mouse at four the corners using glue.
3.These cardboards will help to hold the wheels.
4.Make four washers using the thin metal plate.
5.Use Drill machine to make the washers.
6.Make 4 wheels using bottle caps using drill machine.
7.Measure the gap between two cardboard.
8.Make two equivalent sized pipes using straws as per the measurement taken
9.Take one BBQ stick and fit in the toothed wheels.
Contd…
10.This toothed wheel will act as gear wheel and engages with another toothed
wheel available in the Battery in order to make the transmitted motion.
11.Now fix the bottle cap in one side of the BBQ stick using the glue.
12.Use the metal washer in order to stick and ensure that wheel & gear wheel fits.
13.Now fit the Straw into BBQ stick and fix the other bottle cap on the other side of
the BBQ stick
14.Similarly make other set of wheel rod using bottle cap
15.Place the Dc motor in between the four wheels using the glue.
16.Attach the battery 9v nearer in DC motor by using the glue.
17.Now attach the battery with switch and also attach the motor by using wire.
18.Now switch on the mouse car is take off.
• E waste has emerged as one of the fastest growing waste
streams world wide today.
• Electronic gadgets ,without proper disposal can cause
environmental harm.
• Reuse and recycle are more beneficial than simple
disposal.
• Designation of products using environmentally friendly
raw items can make a change.
• Government shall take steps to reduce e-waste disposal.
