The e-SUNET project aims to develop a sustainable network and support materials to help the families of disabled people through e-learning courses and an interactive online platform. The project aims to increase the skills of families and disabled individuals by creating online tools for an e-learning program. This program will provide training to at least 200 family members and 80 disabled people to better support those living with disabilities. It will develop e-learning courses covering various types of disabilities and be available in multiple languages. The courses will include multimedia content to make them engaging and useful for non-medical caregivers.

How did a Service Desk help lead the change of culture and improvement within a financial services organisation? The problem: IT management had changed from a service to project culture so CREATE side did not talk to the run side until too late. So the Service Desk was repeatedly solving things, performing unneeded tasks, had poor KPIs and tools, and higher costs. One year later and we were the Face-of-IT with measurable days saved in tasks, 80% satisfaction improvement, accelerated request fulfilment, happier staff and gave more budget to enable cloud development and infrastructure projects. We created a place of work and communication: an Oobeya and used Lean to guide improved service based on our ITIL tools and processes. A session presented by Daniel Breston at the Lean IT Summit 2013.

This report summarizes findings from 5 regional studies commissioned by UNESCO on using ICTs to provide access to information and knowledge for persons with disabilities. Key findings include:
1) The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has increased visibility of disability rights and led many governments to mainstream disability needs, though progress is uneven.
2) Significant challenges remain regarding societal attitudes, educator training, employment opportunities, and lack of infrastructure and accessible content.
3) Innovative local solutions are emerging where government progress is slow, showing public-private partnerships can promote inclusive education through ICTs.
4) The report details innovative ICT adaptations identified in regional studies and concludes
The use of ICTto support Home and in the Hospital Education (HHE)
Despite the fact that education represents the most important factor in the prevention and mediation of the psycho-social consequences of illnesses in children and young adults, students with medical issues are still less engaged in learning and face social difficulties resulting in a lower academic achievement. The best way to achieve a good education is to boost attendance in mainstream schools, which provide not only cognitive but also social and developmental advantages to all students.
Students with medical needs either in hospital or at home, face isolation, disengagement and regression. They cannot access mainstream education due to their illness and associated therapies. Within this context, ICT can play a key role in providing better communication and enabling access to education during the period of absence from mainstream school.
LeHo (Learning at Home and in the Hospital) is developing an online hub in order to provide effective tools and relevant resources for home and hospital education practitioners, stakeholders and interested parties.
These slides provide some examples of such innovative practices and a short overview on the project itslef.
This presentation has been showed by Matteo Uggeri (Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, Italy) at Online Educa Berlin 2014 within the session "Addressing Inequality: Is ICT a Silver Bullet?", chaired by Michael Meyer (Aga Khan University, Kenya).

The project aims to address digital illiteracy among older adults who lack essential computer and internet skills. The Global Ageing Experience Project conducted ethnographic research in 7 European countries to understand experiences of aging. Key findings include:
- People want to focus on their abilities rather than limitations and maintain independence.
- The home environment is crucial to quality of life as people age, providing memories, possessions and the space to spend their later years.
- Healthcare and support systems are large and complex, difficult for older people to navigate.
- However, older people are resilient and resourceful in managing their health and finding needed support. Understanding the individual experience of aging is important for developing appropriate services and policies.

This document proposes a project bringing together children, seniors, and community members using technology. It identifies potential partners like local businesses, schools, and nursing homes who could provide funding, resources, or expertise. Technologies like computers, cameras, and video conferencing equipment would be used. The project aims to address connecting people of different ages, building caring relationships, and enhancing well-being through collaborative multimedia activities.
OHE
This document discusses the potential of online higher education and open online courses to transform traditional higher education models. It notes that open online courses (OOCs) allow thousands of students to access course content simultaneously for free online. Community Guide toolkit on Elder Abuse Awareness
The past decade has been marked by increased public awareness of the mistreatment of older persons both in Canada and worldwide. Achievements have been marked by innovation and creativity, policy and program development and legislation. The Community Guide to Raise
World Awareness on Adult Abuse was a initial step to assist communities develop prevention plans.
It is now the 5th anniversary since the launch of the initial guide and many new initiatives have taken place across the globe in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Given the increased availability of elder abuse resources internationally it was determined that the guide could be enhanced with the inclusion of new and additional material. We are grateful to the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) who have generously provided the financial resources to undertake the revision of the guide. With this support a draft revision is now available for review and comment by those in the field of elder abuse prevention. The Canadian government has long been a forerunner in the global prevention of elder mistreatment and is recognized as a leader in the field.
The revision of this guide together with the development of a companion document, “Teen Elder Abuse Awareness Kit” which has been funded through the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) reinforces the Canadian Government‟s commitment to increasing elder abuse awareness globally. Together these two resources will be a powerful contribution and resource for any organization or person interested in minimising the
instances of elder abuse.
We also acknowledge with thanks the original authors of the guide; Charmaine Spencer, Elizabeth Podnieks, Susan Somers, and other members of the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse

of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
