Antenna design for sigfox ready devices recommendation guideSigfox
In this document, several aspects of antenna design and integration are developed. The document focuses on SIGFOX IOT application and small form factor devices.
The importance of implementing a high-performance antenna in a device is demonstrated by analyzing the SIGFOX radio link budget.
Theories are then developed to explain why antennas can be extremely sensitive to their environment and may therefore have varying performance (e.g. when held compared to standing alone). Using the same arguments, it is shown that the same antenna can have different behavior when implemented in two distinct device architectures. This leads to an initial finding that for each device development, a specific antenna design, or at least antenna tuning, must be carried out.
Then, the most important physical parameters that impact antenna characteristics and behavior are presented. Several typical antenna topologies, miniaturization techniques, and manufacturing techniques applicable to SIGFOX IOT applications and small form factor devices are listed.
Advice regarding off-the-shelf antennas is given to explain why antenna performance depicted in datasheets may differ from “real-life implementation” performance.
A selection tool will help the reader to select the best antenna topology for the device, based on several parameters such as expected performance, integration or miniaturization level, and design complexity.
To close the document, a simple method that roughly estimates devices radiated performance is given. This method does not involve very expensive equipment, such as anechoic chambers, and is relatively easy to set up.
The document summarizes a student project to design a short range personal infrared radar system. The system will use an infrared sensor that rotates 180 degrees to detect objects from 10cm to 500cm away. When an object is detected, the microcontroller will activate an alarm sound and display the distance on an LCD screen. It will also illuminate an LED in the direction of the detected object. The students will survey literature on similar infrared and ultra-wideband radar systems and use software like MPLAB and Proteus to program the microcontroller and simulate the system. Potential applications include home security, parking assistance, and driving aids.
This document discusses using a DSP-based system for transmission line fault classification and location. It aims to provide faster fault detection and repair to improve power system reliability and performance. The system would analyze harmonics and transients on the line using a DSP processor and wavelet analysis to identify fault types. It would then use an SVM algorithm or ANN for fault location. Developing the hardware setup, signal processing using DSP and algorithms for classification and location would cost approximately 10.75 lakhs.

If you've owned a regular radar detector, you know the hassles of setting it up and hiding it from thieves when not in use. You hate the dangling cords, suction cups and Velcro tabs that destroy the elegant contours of your instrument panel.
K40's exclusive "Divide-and-conquer" concept solves all that. Inside the cockpit, separate alert lights and speakers or custom Warning Pod mounts invisibly into your vehicle's instrument cluster. A unique two piece control switch, installed discreetly under the kick panel or in the dash, adjusts the on/off, city/highway, and volume functions.
Rader is an object detection system. It uses Microwaves to determine the range, altitude, direction, or speed of objects. The radar can transmit radio waves or microwaves which bounce off any object in their path. So, we can easily determine any object in the radar range. Adruino is a single-board microcontroller to make electronics more discipline. The radar system has different performance specifications and also it comes in a verity of size.
An Arduino radar project is more than a visual project because of its circuit implementation. There are different hardware use to accomplish the Arduino Radar Sensor. Like as, Arduino UNO. HC-SRo4 Ultrasonic Sensor including a Servo Motor. The main appearance is the visual narration in the Processing Application.
It is very simple, the Ultrasonic Sensor collects the object information with the help of Arduino and passes it to Processing Application. In the processing application, there is a simple Graphics application implemented which mimic a radar screen.

Laura Alonso, Federico Pinedo, Patricia Bullrich y Sergio
designado Dr. Claudio Marcelo Vazquez.

This document discusses software defined radios (SDR) and challenges in testing SDR systems. SDRs use reconfigurable hardware and software to support different wireless functions and standards. Testing SDRs is challenging due to the mixed-signal nature and potential for impairments throughout the system. Software defined instruments on a PXI platform can test multiple standards using one hardware configuration by changing software. MaxEye Technologies provides SDR test and measurement solutions using National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW to generate and analyze signals for various digital video standards.
LPWAN Technologies for Internet of Things (IoT) and M2M ScenariosPeter R. Egli
Rapid technological advances in the past made possible the miniaturization of network devices to meet the cost and power consumption requirements in IoT and M2M scenarios. What is missing in this picture is a radio technology with both long range capability and a very low cost footprint. Existing radio technologies such as 3G/4G or Short Range Radio do not aptly meet the requirements of IoT scenarios because they are either too expensive or are not able to provide the required range. Other wireless technologies are geared towards high bandwidth which is in most cases not a requirement for IoT.
Emerging LPWAN technologies such as ETSI LTN or LoRAWAN are poised for filling the gap by providing long range (up to 40km) and low power connectivity. These technologies allow low cost radio devices and operation thus enabling scaling up IoT applications.

Range as high as 70 miles has been demonstrated in low noise environments. The TMR1 rugged IP67 housing high performance and versatility make it ideal for oil/gas, water and electric utilities, environmental monitoring and agricultural applications.
ADAPTIVE SPEED/MODULATION TECHNOLOGY
The Trimble TMR1 supports both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint network topologies. With most networked radios operating in point-to-multipoint mode, the speed of the access point radio is restricted to the speed and modulation of the weakest link.
DUAL DATA PORTS FOR BOTH SERIAL AND IP COMMUNICATION
The Trimble TMR1 is equipped with two data connectors: one for serial/power and one for Ethernet. This allows you to attach sensors to the TMR1 in the field and to communicate with any TMR1 via Ethernet cables, a LAN/WAN or the Internet. All links can be protected by AES 128- and 256-bit data encryption and VLAN segregation, so only you are allowed to communicate with your network.
RUGGED, WATERPROOF, MADE FOR THE REAL WORLD
The Trimble TMR1 is built to survive in real-world industrial applications, from mines and
construction sites to warehouses and oil rigs. The rugged aluminum housing and connectors are certified to withstand submersion in 1 meter of water and are chemically treated to withstand corrosion.

Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
How to Interpret Trends in the Kalyan Rajdhani Mix Chart.pdfChart Kalyan
A Mix Chart displays historical data of numbers in a graphical or tabular form. The Kalyan Rajdhani Mix Chart specifically shows the results of a sequence of numbers over different periods.
How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.
