Basic NC Laws of Revoking Student Drivers License/Permit

Middle School students MUST pass 70% of classes for entire school year. High School students MUST pass 75% of classes per each semester. ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]

Parent/guardian will be notified by letter that their child is not making adequate academic progress, has dropped out of public school, or has been involved in disciplinary action.

Parent/guardian has the option to submit a hardship request form to the principal of school to allow child to continue with driving privileges. Reasons for hardship : ~Medical Considerations ~Work-Related Considerations ~EC Considerations ~Other Considerations ,[object Object]

Following behaviors can result in disciplinary action that would allow one to lose license/permit: *Possession or sale of alcoholic beverage or illegal controlled substance on school property. *Possession of weapons/firearm on school property. *Physical assault on teacher or school personnel on school property. License would be revoked for one year and includes students who are over the age of 18. ,[object Object]

If student drops out of school and attends community college, the principal has the right to revoke license until they meet specifications of community college regarding driving privileges. ,[object Object]

A student MUST complete and pass 75% of their courses the following semester to be eligible for license/permit to be reinstated. ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object]
