I have collaborated extensively with a diverse range of customers/callers/clients/teams, during in which
time I developed proficient time management and multi tasking skills, conflict management and
resolution abilities, liaised with internal and external stakeholders, effectively encouraged team
member/client morale, and finely tuned my inter personal skills. I am able to work autonomously as well
as part of a team. I am computer literate, and have an ability to adapt to new software systems. I hold
tertiary qualifications and practical experience in Counselling and Community Services work, and am
used to dealing with clients with complex and sensitive needs. I am also qualified in Mental Health First
Aid.
I have proven practical experience through my roles as a Student Counsellor with the Careers Australia
Student Counselling Service, as a Crisis Telephone Counsellor with Switchboard (LGBTIQ+ crisis
hotline), and general admin duties with YEAH (Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS). In these roles I
was the first point of contact, conducted initial assessments, assessing risk and issue severity,
successfully cultivated ongoing client bases, maintained a high standard of written and verbal
communication, followed workplace policies and procedures, understanding of confidentiality and duty
of care practices, as well as liaising with supervisors and stakeholders. I have recently started
volunteering with VAC (Victorian Aids Council) as I am an advocate for mental health and the
LGBTIQA+ community, and wish to contribute to its mission.
I am passionate, hardworking, motivated, and willing to upskill and undergo further training when
required. I am willing to travel and relocate should the opportunity arise. Additionally, I hold a current
Victorian Driver’s License, and current Working With Children check.
