Ms. Shannah Peterson
Mental Health Counselor
Intercept
Community Based Counselor
To whom it may concern,
I was excited to see an opening for a community based counselor and I hope to be invited
for an interview.
While my resume may seem like I do not have much mental health background, I have
interned in a mental health facility for six months and in my opinion I really connected
with some of the clients. In addition to this I have been a waitress for 3 years and also
have been apart of the healthcare field. My responsibilities include many things that
would be relevant for this job. I have been part of a team, which has allowed me to
consider other people’s opinions and see the importance of them. It has allowed me to
grow as a person and become a more patient person.
In addition to this experience I also have worked for a company called Pape wholesale in
which I was their administrative assistant. This job allowed me to interact with many
customers. I had to deal with unhappy customers and happy customers. I had to learn
how to deal with difficult situations and how to try and make the customer happy. I also
dealt with important documents for the company, and this will allow me to be a better
mental health counselor because it has taught me a lot about privacy and helping people
through difficult situations.
I have also grown academically in graduation from Roanoke College. I am enthused to
learn and this job would continue to fulfill my interests in psychology. I feel like I am a
very good candidate for this job, feel free to call me at (203-906-0093) or email me at
sdpeterson@mail.roanoke.edu to arrange an interview and I look forward to hearing from
you.
Sincerely,
Shannah Peterson
