For my interview I have decided that I will start with an introduction to the artist. The opening
paragraph (the lead) will have to be dynamic and a quick way to grab the reader’s attention. I will
then got on to write about 6 or 7 sub headings to do with a particular topic (e.g. ‘Partying with Lily
Allen’) and then write individual paragraphs underneath. These ‘mini paragraphs’ will have their own
theme as well as the overall article having an overall theme which will run throughout to support the
text and the meaning. To end the interview I will create a suitable conclusion which will include the
release date of their new album and will link back to the first paragraph to create a finished product.
Aims within the article:
Maintain an urban and edgy feel to the conversation to keep the indie rock genre present
Inform the readers about the band, mentioning key facts in the introduction and giving
interesting information throughout that will keep the audience engaged
Not to repeat information

Introduction:
This month in Rogue British Indie Band Crystal Haze made up of high school drop outs Lea Rose (18)
and Vanessa Carmen (18). Despite being in their late teens the band have hit the scene early and this
year they performed at the height of the summer, Glastonbury 2013! They are inspiredmassively by
The Beatles and say Mick Jagger’s stamina encourages them to aim better and bigger. On their debut
LP they produced a Fleetwood Mac sounding electronic indie sound which made 20 countries best
hit list including UK and the US.
Topic sub-headings:
1. Track of the month…
LEA:Burn by Ellie Goulding
VANESSA:Can I have two!?? All the Lights by Passenger and Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus!!
2. Working with Ellie Goulding…
L:We’ve wanted to work with her for so long now and when she worked with CalvinHarriswe
knew we had to do anything to work with her, she’s amazing!
V:It’s massive!(Laughs) Remember when she came of stage at V Fest and
3. A song you wish you’d written…
L:Don’t Let Me Down by The Beatles. The song of my childhood!
V:Yeah, tune! Mine would be You Can’t Always Get What You Want by The Stones, our song
‘Live for Rock’ is inspired by that song
4. Your first festival…
L:It was back in 2006 when we were 12 and we were back stage at Glastonbury (Lea’s dad
had played there for the record of 10 years in a row!) and we were just stunned by all the
people we’d read and dreamed about, walking past.
V:I think I just sat there staring for the whole half an hour amazed by the tech teams and
behind the scenes. Pretty sure we missed the whole of Mike’s set though, oops!
5. Never leave the tour bus without...
2. 6.
7.
8.
9.
L:my guitar, you never know when you need to whip it out and jam! I remember when we
were first staring out I gave a little gig at the airport! Thousands of people just sat and we
gave out free mix tapes. And then we got told off because a group of people missed their
flight!
V:I always carry around a notebook in case a lyric comes into my head like ‘Indie Rock and
Roll’ did for me two years ago!
L:If you hadn’t had then we wouldn’t have had 150,000 people screaming it back at us at
Glastonbury!
Glasto 2013…
L:The best experience of my life, the partying, the music …and the mess afterwards!! We
were with Grimmy (Nick Grimshaw) and Paloma (Faith) and Lea and Nick got stuck in a foot
of mud!
V:We met so many amazing people there and dueting with Haim was beyond amazing! We
had our tour right after which probably wasn’ the best decision, we were shattered!
The most star struck moment...
L:Back in 2009 when I met the Queen, we thought she was very indie!
V:Meetingthe Jagger at V Fest! I still have a massive poster of him on my wall at home, some
things never change!
Most rock and roll crime…
L:I don’t think I can say!!
V:(Laughs)
London’s peak…
L:The best thing about London is the hype. There are people everywhere and it’s exactly
how a capital city should be!
V:We were in Camden the other day and this man came up to us screaming our new lyric;
we love the randomness of it all!
