HISTORY
Bauer started off from a family business and it was only a small publishing house that
started in 1875. it has now grown to be a world wide known company and
publishes many famous magazines like Q and Kerrang!.
The Bauer Publishing Group now publishes around 300 magazines in 15 countries
worldwide.
The publishing company became the third largest publisher in Britain. Bauer then
further expanded within the UK when it purchased Emap Consumer Media and
Emap Radio in 2008 to become the UK's largest publishing group.
Success
In 2012 the company has acquired Australia's largest printing company APC
Magazines which increased the company’s profile and value to over €2 billion.
MAGAZINES
Bauer’s brands include women's weekly and the TV listings magazines. Bella, Take a
Break, that's life! TVChoice and Total TVGuide are examples as well as a number
of puzzle magazines. (The puzzle magazines make the brand different and unique
to other companies as not many brands specifically publish these magazines.
SUITABLE FOR ME?
I think this brand would be more suitable for me to use as it doesn’t support as many
music magazines a the moment so my magazine would stand out.
Although, using IPC would be good because they already have a good music audience
I think it would be hard for me to become notices if I was with that company.

Bauer would give me a better change and I would not be at a large disadvantage
because they do know how to market companies properly and successfully as you
can tell by their pervious history.
