"I have been professionally associated with Mr. Burke for over four years and had the pleasure of
serving as his immediate supervisor since 2014. During the four years that I’ve worked with Mr.
Burke, he has taken on the role of a mentor and coach to assist in building the leadership capacity
of principals, assistant principals, and executive directors in multiple LEAs.
In my observation of Mr. Burke, I find that he approaches his role with personal sense of
accountability for the success of others. He knows how to motivate, inspire, and move others to
achieve their goals. He helps administrators to develop clear goals, expectations and deliverables, and
brings a high standard of ethics, honesty, and integrity in everything he does. Much of his success
can be contributed to his extensive knowledge surrounding research based school improvement,
legal mandates, and the current issues facing education.
Mr. Burke has a very collaborative spirit. When communicating, he strives to listen actively, and
seeks first to understand. His interpersonal skills have enabled him to establish positive relationships
with everyone he works with. His visionary thinking combined with strong analytic problem solving
skills has helped in his mentoring of administrators. They often lean on him to assist in bringing
clarity to what may be viewed as complicated.
Mr. Burke is an exceptional leader with a wide range of skills and abilities. He is enthusiastic,
proactive, highly positive leader. I have learned much from him. Mr. Burke is frankly, a remarkable
leader.
