Penguin Update Rolling Out
There have been user confirmations that the Penguin update has been released! There has been no official statement
from Google as of yet, but we can certainly confirm rank changes for some of our properties. None of our affected
properties were under penalty or under the affects of the previous Penguin update from later 2013.
Google Penguin is an update which is targeted at websites with unnatural or paid , to include link exchanges,
link farms, paid links, PBN’s, etc. You can read more information about the concept behind Google Penguin . We
have also mentioned it in about Google Panda, earlier this year.
Across most of our sites we saw a MAJOR increase in ranked keywords and ranked pages, here are some examples:
We have not seen huge reflections of this change in Google
Webmaster Tools yet, but the data often takes a few days to
show up. We have also not seen a huge spike or dip on
Google Analytics, but typically that portal lags three days
behind as well.
